Leading international education provider Study Group has acquired London-based Insendi, a learning experience platform developer that helps institutions implement new models of high impact, transformational online education, the company has announced recently.

While the amount of the deal was not disclosed, the move was described by the company as an opportunity to enhance Study Group’s position as a leading provider of international education in an area of growing importance to students and universities.

Founded in 2017 by staff from the Edtech Lab at Imperial College London, Insendi’s core product is a ‘Learning Experience Platform’ specifically designed to enable business schools to deliver a premium online and blended learning programs. The platform contains rich pedagogical functionality which enables learning designers to craft engaging and effective human-centered learning experience and via an intuitive, uncluttered interface. To enable its partners to fully realize the potential of the platform, Insendi also provides a range of high-touch, collaborative consultancy and services.

Welcoming Insendi to its family, Emma Lancaster, Chief Executive of Study Group, said in a statement,

Insendi is a great company with high-quality international higher education partners and an exciting potential in its own right. “We are particularly attracted to working with Insendi because of their strong educational focus and background, and we are confident that the ability of our students to progress to excellent universities, to thrive and achieve success in their studies and careers will be enhanced by this development.”

According to the release of the company, Insendi will operate as a separate company within Study Group to retain its focus on innovation in online higher education, while Study Group will also work closely with Insendi to develop its online student support and bespoke provision in the years to come.

Dr David LeFevre, Director and co-founder of Insendi, also the Director of the Edtech Lab at Imperial College, also issued a statement on the development saying,

“Insendi is extremely pleased to become part of the Study Group family, while maintaining our own unique identity and reputation. Together we see genuine complementary strengths and a real potential for business growth in the future. Key to this opportunity is our mutual commitment to excellent education. Increasingly, the teaching and support of students draws on the breakthrough technologies that are impacting our society.”

“Study Group and Insendi are aligned in a commitment to the potential of new technologies informed by educational research to support learning and enhance student attainment. Our shared view is that these technologies are increasingly important to students and teachers and they will play a pivotal role in the future as international education addresses questions of access, resilience and environmental sustainability. Study Group is a global higher education company that prepares international students for university degree programs. It partners with more than 40 universities across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australasia. The company claims to have helped 30,000 students from 142 countries to achieve their goals in 2018.
