How does it help students?

Parents and educators, take note that Elevate is a “brain-training” app that features simple games designed to sharpen particular cognitive skills. A better fit for older kids as the games require kids and adults to have significant prior knowledge of English grammar rules and strong English vocabulary.

The game play significantly improves the following skills:

– Thinking & Reasoning: thinking critically.

– Communication: conveying messages effectively, listening, speaking.

Elevate takes the most practical approach. “We think of brain training as a way to improve concrete skills for everyday life,” says Zogas, Director of Content for Elevate. “Our games are designed to target specific problems people have, like trouble calculating a tip or difficulty writing a clear email to a colleague. They work because they focus on a specific task and offer step-by-step instructions for improving your performance.” Backing up the app is a study that shows individuals using Elevate did 69% better on a performance test than non-users—and more training meant more improvement.

The app is available on both Android and iOS devices for free and a paid version with extra features.
