Learning can be made sensational if UX is the backbone in creation of that LMS.

In the case of learning management systems, user experience plays a vital role because effective learning is closely related with it. Perhaps this is the reason why organizations are at a constant search for LMSs which offer enhanced UX.

The learning management systems is in a constant evolving stage and in order to meet the needs of modern organizations, the developers need to meet the demands of modern organizations. On the part of the organizations, this selection process at times becomes quite bewildering.

There are a lot of LMS systems and making the right choice out of the many is indeed a tough call. So what are the essential elements which LMS must contain for enhanced user experience? Or how do you select a tool with enhanced user experience?

Take a look at the essential elements of this tool to help you in making a wise decision.

1. Desirable Design

No one likes a boring design, isn’t it? Something which is dull and do not have a very organized look is bound to fall flat. So here comes the play of desirable design elements such as easy neat interface and configuration facility.

As an organization, check in advance that the LMS isn’t cumbersome, is easy-to-navigate and includes end-user standards at the forefront to achieve greater learning outcomes.

2. Competent Automation

Automation is an important aspect of any package so the top notch LMS systems always integrate automation into every aspect. Some of the significant aspects of automation includes features such as scheduled reporting systems and email alerts so that the training programs goes off seamless. This would thus save a lot of time of the organization as they would not have to keep a tap on monitoring and face constant intervention.

3. Adaptable Course Content

Facilitating users with suitable provisions for creating course content/ flexible course creation provision within the LMS system is a great advantage on the part of the users. Primarily, IT based systems are preferred over traditional classroom based learning because of this element.

LMSs such as the eLeap is one such system that excels in this aspect and that is why, it has a large number of users. In this system, users can create courses with ease right from the scratch level.

4. Connects Easily

By this, it is implied that the user would want to access their LMS and learning content from anywhere and at any time. The LMS system must support a seamless and ongoing learning experiences. Any snags in terms of accessibility can disrupt the entire learning process and pose a negative impact on the learner’s overall engagement with the learning and development programs.

5.  Easily Accessable

With connectivity being the center of discussion, it is also important to make sure that the LMS system is accessible to people with disabilities. So check if the LMS contains options to make texts understandable and multiple methods of viewing the contents such as images, texts and audios.

Another important consideration is that of accessing the LMS system both online and offline. Say if learners do not access to good Wi-Fi or want to access the content on any device without internet connection, the offline provision will allow them to access the content easily. Also if the students/learners want to make any progress offline such should sync to the LMS.

As a no brainer, mobile access is increasing so this element is imperative to evaluate the LMS i.e. mobile UX in conjunction with web UX.

To conclude, it is important for the organizations to check all the above elements to help their users engage with LMS. Withall the important UX elements discussed so far, you will be able to make a wise decision when you plan for a new one or seek to replace an existing LMS system.
