The funding round also saw participation from BCCL and its present investors Indian Angel Network, and multiple renowned angel investors like Ajai Chowdhry (Founder, HCL), Raman Roy (Chairman and Managing Director, Quatrro), etc.

The funds raised will be used to strengthen and amplify the company’s user base and expand the product portfolio.

SP Robotic Works is a platform to learn, build, and showcase Robotics, IoT (Internet of Things), Image Processing, Virtual Reality (VR), and other next-generation skills. These are some of the most sought-after technologies in India and around the world.

With an aim to upskill the youth of India, the coursework and certifications are designed to provide an edge that is vital for showcasing what an individual can do in this world – paving a way to break into the world of the brilliant and smart.

SP Robotics Works raised their first seed investment in 2016 to create a revolutionary breakthrough in the EdTech sector with their AI-based learning platform called ‘SPARKY’.

SPARKY is an artificial intelligence platform that understands a wide variety of learners. It handles the whole suite of courses and modules spanning from simple ones such as Scratch Programming, Electronics, and Android to more complex ones such as Robotics, Drones, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Virtual and Augmented Reality.

The platform understands what programs are suitable for an individual. It connects learners with an extended community of like-minded people to discuss and share learning and learning outcomes.

SP Robotics Works’ courses are structured, AI-based, and offered both in the online and offline smart-class mode. The learning is completely practical with hands-on kits. The company has also designed reusable learning kits, enabling children to assemble, build algorithms, and see their code in action through a robot or drone making the learning more engaging and interesting.

Speaking about the platform and how the latest investment will help the company, Co-founder and CEO of SP Robotic Works Sneha Priya said,

“SP Robotic Works believes in building a scalable and highly qualitative platform that can enable practical learning of concepts in a fun way. As a means to scale with quality, we developed SPARKY which today teaches all our customers in a personalized manner – a best teacher for every student. The aim is to encourage children to develop a liking for the practical aspect of concepts that will enable a boost in their cognitive, problem solving, and logical thinking skills. The funding will help us to further take this ambition to new heights and diversify our product portfolio and strengthen our user base.”

SP Robotics Works, started in 2012 by Sneha Priya and Pranavan, plans to further utilize this funding for talent acquisition to expand its current team strength to 150+.

Vedamoorthy Namasivayam, General Partner at Mount Judi India Growth Fund, who will also join as a board member to SPRW, has also commented on the investment,

“The SP Robotic Works team has a deep understanding of the EdTech landscape in India and has created a revolutionary learning platform with their AI-based teacher “SPARKY” to provide personalized gamified learning experience to each of its students. Its Maker Lab network across India perfectly complements its AI-based teaching platform – ‘SPARKY”, setting the base for strong penetration and growth. We appreciate the practical and hands-on learning pedagogical approach at affordable fees, which enable more children to enjoy during the learning process.”

Lead angel investor of Indian Angel Network Naga Prakasam added his comments on the development, saying,

“SP Robotics is all about bringing the problem-solving ability to students. This funding is to make them enjoy science and math as well as they did with ranger and codey. I’m very glad supporting SPRW journey as Sneha Priya and Pranavan push the EdTech space into the next orbit.”

With the new funding, SP Robotic Works has raised a total of $4 million from various investors including marquee angel networks consisting of Indian Angel Network, The Chennai Angels, Native Angel Network, and Malabar Angel Network.

SP Robotic Works is trusted by several industry experts and professionals. The company has been recognized with more than 35 awards including from the Government of India, CNBC, World Economic Forum, Confederation of Indian Industries, Assist World Records, World Startup Expo, and more. It currently operates across international borders like Australia, UAE, Singapore, Thailand, and Mauritius, among others.
