McMaster University has unveiled MacHub, an innovative online platform that will enhance the McMaster student experience. The University’s mission is to discover, communicate, and preserve knowledge. The institute is dedicated to originality, innovation, teaching, research, and scholarship excellence. It fosters critical thinking, personal development, and a desire for lifelong learning.
MacHub is a personalized online platform where students may contact academic advisers, browse quick links to essential university websites, and get answers to frequently asked questions about academic life, such as how to enrol in courses. The platform was developed after an extensive stakeholder engagement identified the need for a Campus Relationship Management (CRM) tool at McMaster to support the student academic experience.
Commenting on the initiative, Sean Van Koughnett, Associate Vice-President (students and learning) and dean of Students, said:
McMaster University is committed to taking a student-centred approach to our support and programs. As part of that effort, MacHub will help simplify finding the information and resources students need.
MacHub will not only improve the student experience, but it will also streamline administrative operations and information sharing among university departments, hence improving operational performance. It will continue to evolve and improve through future releases, ensuring it remains responsive to the changing needs of McMaster’s vibrant student and staff community. Community members are encouraged to provide feedback, suggestions, and ideas to enhance the platform in future releases.

MacHub is one example of McMaster’s efforts to create transformative information technologies that deliver delightful experiences to our community. This new platform will create a more personalized, seamless and connected experience for McMaster students and the dedicated employees who serve them.
McMaster University works with undergraduate and graduate students to offer various learning opportunities, partnerships and teaching and learning scholarships. Its students gain practical experience linked to their education and career goals through internships, co-op, academic placements, career-planning courses and workshops. More than 100 courses across our Faculties of Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences support these hands-on student experiences.
