Sikkim Manipal University has recently announced the launch of two undergraduate and five postgraduate programmes online. According to an official announcement, the University’s online degrees are UGC-entitled and recognized alongside on-campus degrees.
The newly launched online undergraduate programmes are Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a combination of English, Political Science and Sociology and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom). SMU has also introduced five different postgraduate programmes, namely- Master of Arts in English (MA- English), Master of Arts in Political Science (MA- Political Science), Master of Arts in Sociology (MA- Sociology), Master of Commerce (MCom) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA), as detailed in the release.
The institute also claims that these online programmes are accessible and affordable to students from all backgrounds. The online programmes allow students to study at their own pace and help them tailor their study schedules to their work and personal commitments.

As per the release, the online degree programmes include the Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning material, online proctored examinations, dedicated student support, and live and recorded lectures, which provide learners with the utmost flexibility and independence in studying at their leisure.
Sikkim Manipal University was founded to strengthen the close link between education and skill development and to educate, skill, and employ the youth of Sikkim, allowing them to capitalize on diverse opportunities both within and outside of Sikkim.
