India’s leading online educational technology platform, Physics Wallah (PW), has expanded its offerings to include healthcare after investing in brick-and-mortar skilling institutes for technology and management. The School of Healthcare, part of PW Skills, Alakh Pandey’s upskilling vertical, aims to address the shortage of skilled healthcare professionals by providing specialized courses.

According to the company, PW’s School of Healthcare will offer programmes in five cities: Noida, Indore, Lucknow, Patna, and Delhi. These will be designed to meet industry standards and cater to the healthcare market’s diverse needs.

Ashish Sharma, Chief Business Officer of Physics Wallah, emphasized the company’s commitment to quality and affordability. He said:

India’s healthcare sector is experiencing rapid growth, yet only 15% of our 65 lakh allied health professionals are vocationally trained. This significant gap highlights the urgent need for high-quality, affordable education.

Sharma added:

With the launch of the healthcare school, the company is on a mission to bridge this divide by offering diverse, hands-on training programmes.

The courses include practical internships for hands-on professional development. For vocational courses such as Medical Lab Technician (MLT) and Operation Theatre Technician (OTT), students will undergo two years of classroom training and a one-year internship. Advanced Diploma programmes in MLT and OTT consist of a one-year classroom component and a one-year internship.

PW Skills has ambitious plans for the future. It aims to offer comprehensive placement support, including interview prep, soft skills, and computer literacy. The institution is committed to securing global placements for graduates.

The expansion comes just a few months after Alakh Pandey’s organization entered the physical school industry with PW Gurukulam Schools in Gurugram and Varanasi. PW, which began in the test prep segment before expanding into the skilling space, hopes to achieve something similar with its schools.

Founded in 2020, with headquarters in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Physics Wallah is democratizing education on a large scale in India. It has a presence in online, offline, and hybrid modes and a reach of 98% of India’s pin codes. The platform offers a variety of educational options, including two Gurukulam Schools, test preparation in over 43 categories, a skilling vertical, higher education, and study abroad programmes.
