UOW India joins an elite group of engineering institutes in India to have the opportunity to collaborate with IBM, offering the students access to IBM ICE’s advanced training and educational resources.

Speaking on the collaboration, Nimay Kalyani, Campus Director of UOW India, said:

The partnership with IBM is a game-changer initiative and will immensely benefit students by collaborating with the industry leader. We are delighted to partner with IBM to provide a rich experience to students. Through this partnership, our students will benefit from placements across various sectors, including multinational corporations, global system integrator organisations, independent software vendors, leading research and development organisations, domain business houses, start-ups, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Kalyani added:

The collaboration aims to equip students with industry-acknowledged and valued skills and knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the modern workforce.

As part of this partnership, Qualified students will have access to internship placements and career opportunities with various leading organisations across MNC’sMNCs, Global System Integrators, and Domain sectors—banks, Telecom, Insurance, Healthcare, FinTech, E-Commerce, Insurance, and many more—across the globe.

Professor Mai El Barachi, Head of the School of Computer Science at UOW Dubai, added:

The partnership will enrich UOW India’s academic offerings and strengthen our students’ competitiveness in the global job market. The partnership emphasises practical, hands-on learning experiences that align with industry needs and trends. The collaboration will focus on training in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, big data and business analytics, cyber security, gaming technologies, contextual mobility, and blockchain technologies. The partnership underscores our commitment to providing a world-class education that equips our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today’s rapidly evolving job market.

Professor El Barachi played an instrumental role in enabling this partnership on behalf of UOW India and will continue to support UOW India in replicating the success of the UOW Dubai—IBM partnership.

IBM Innovation Centre for Education, IBM India/South Asia Director Vithal Madyalkar, also stated:

There is a strong industry demand for IT professionals to be profoundly skilled in in-demand technologies. The Innovation Centre for Education initiative from IBM will equip the students at the UOW India campus to adapt to the dynamics in the industry and drive technology and business innovation. The engagement model will ensure deep theoretical knowledge & practical hands-on exposure to the students, coupled with broad-based industry alignment, interaction, talent discoverability, and excellence in their professional practice. Through this collaboration, we can positively impact the outcomes of our students.
