Deel, the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams, recently announced the acquisition of Assemble, a compensation management and insights company. This strategic acquisition marks a significant step in Deel’s mission to radically simplify global work. By bringing Assemble into the Deel ecosystem, its performance management, payroll, and AI tech will combine to create an all-in-one solution for global workforce management.

Compensation management for global teams has long been a complex challenge, involving diverse market rates, compliance requirements, and growing expectations for fairness and transparency. It has become an increasingly important element of any talent attraction and retention strategy. Assemble has redefined this space with its innovative approach to compensation management:

  • Easy self-serve platform: Assemble enables companies to create structured compensation plans, manage pay and equity bands, ensure pay transparency, and derive data-driven insights to retain talent in one self-serve platform.
  • Integration & insights: The platform effortlessly integrates with leading HRIS solutions, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and cap table tools like Carta to bring insights together. It also pulls from aggregated and anonymized market data, providing industry insights to ensure a company’s comp strategy aligns with its peers.
  • Customer-centric 360-degree experience: Assemble’s platform offers tailored dashboards for C-suite executives, HR leaders, team managers, employees, and prospective candidates. These dashboards provide a clear compensation overview and deliver key insights into pay equity and market benchmarks. By promoting transparency, the platform fosters trust, enhances satisfaction, and ensures everyone feels valued and well-informed.

Speaking on the deal, Alex Bouaziz, Co-founder and CEO of Deel, said:

Deel and Assemble eliminate the need for disconnected tools and spreadsheets, making workforce management more straightforward, smarter, and seamless. We’re thrilled to partner with the passionate Co-founders of Assemble, who have dedicated over 4.5 years to building their vision. Together, we will rebuild their product within Deel and drive it forward with shared excitement and care.

Here’s what to expect once Assemble joins the Deel ecosystem:

  • One seamless flow for people management: Assemble’s compensation tools will integrate directly with Deel’s talent management, payroll and HRIS products, creating a smooth workflow from performance cycles to compensation planning to payroll— all in one platform.
  • Data-driven compensation: Assemble creates insights pulled from anonymized market data. With Deel’s dataset of 500,000 workers, your company will gain unparalleled visibility into global pay trends to stay competitive and compliant.
  • AI-powered insights: Use Deel AI to forecast pay trends, recommend adjustments, and optimize pay structures, making smarter decisions faster.

Lisa Wallace, co-founder and co-CEO of Assemble, added:

Fixing pay equity and driving transparency in compensation has been Assemble’s driving force since day one. Enrique, our team, and I are thrilled to join Deel to help accelerate that vision. As pay transparency continues to be a hot topic, we’re looking forward to building out how compensation strategy can partner with the rest of the HR suite to drive change for businesses and employees.

Deel fully integrated three key acquisitions in 2024: Global Payroll (Payspace), Deel Engage (Zavvy), and Deel IT (Hofy) to improve its native global payroll service, assist companies in training and retaining top talent, and manage the delivery of tens of thousands of devices to people in 125 countries. Assemble will be Deel’s fourth acquisition integration, making it the only firm capable of providing payroll, compensation, performance, and HR solutions under one platform.
