Newton School, a futuristic AI-powered neo-university, has collaborated with The Mind & Company, a leading mental health organization, to support students on their journey to better mental health. This partnership will provide students access to online counselling sessions with qualified therapists, tailored programmes, and more. It will enable them to manage stress, develop resilience, and navigate the challenges of upskilling and transitioning into new career paths.

The cooperation aims to prioritize mental health for learners by creating a friendly atmosphere to address students’ overall well-being. It will help students destress and create an open conversation about mental health, particularly in the academic setting. As part of the agreement, The Mind & Company provided 45-minute one-on-one counselling sessions to Newton students to fill support gaps and smoothly integrate therapy into the Newton platform.

The research of 150 Newton School students shows that 85% are interested in mental health support, and 97% believe the project is a worthwhile addition to their online learning experience. This immense response emphasized the necessity of addressing mental health in school and the need for measures that enable students to succeed both personally and professionally.

Speaking on the collaboration, Nishant Chandra, Co-founder of Newton School, said:

At Newton School, we believe in a holistic learning approach where students’ mental health is as important as their professional success. With expert support from The Mind & Company, we not only empower students to be better equipped to deal with all ongoing stress, but we are also trying to normalize mental health conversations, which is an impetus for creating a healthier and more productive learning culture.

The alliance offers students professional mental health support, with students expressing a desire for more frequent sessions, group workshops, and tailored self-help tools. Experts from The Mind & Company will work closely with students to address typical issues, including job anxiety, stress, overthinking, and time management. Newton School’s collaboration with The Mind & Company has laid a solid foundation for incorporating mental health into education, cultivating resilience, and providing holistic student support.

Newton School, started by Nishant Chandra and Siddharth Maheshwari, has been in the vanguard of higher education curricula, focusing on innovation, research, and preparing students for a changing world through technological excellence and economic growth. The company aims to transform India into a hotbed of game-changing ideas by investing in young Indians and empowering them to make a difference, promoting technological innovation, and placing India globally.

Priya G Arun Prasad, Co-founder and Director at The Mind & Company, added:

Students’ mental health has remained a growing concern for many years. It is incredibly rewarding to see more new-age educational institutes normalizing mental health conversations in education. We look forward to extending support to students by creating a safe place for students who seek guidance and ensuring emotional and mental resilience in their personal and academic growth.

The Mind and Company believes mental health care is more than just therapy. It’s about creating a transformative experience for every individual. Its approach is rooted in compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to client well-being. The platform offers personalized, one-on-one therapy sessions, both online and offline, to cater to unique needs. Its personalised therapy services have positively impacted over 5,000 lives by providing crucial mental health support. Beyond one-to-one therapy, the company has reached out to over a million people across India through free mental health awareness programmes in schools, colleges, and corporate organizations. By offering these sessions, The Mind and Company aims to educate and promote a culture of openness around mental health, helping individuals recognize the importance of mental wellness in their daily lives.
