Futura, an Italian EdTech startup that develops artificial intelligence models to revolutionise the study process, has raised €1.8 million in funding to create personalised and adaptive learning paths.

The round was led by United Ventures as lead investor and Exor Seeds, with participation from Ithaca Investments, LVenture Group and angel investors, including Luca Ascani (Accel scout), Matteo De Brabant (founder of Jakala) and Attilio Mazzilli (partner at Orrick).

Founded by Andrea Chirolli, Francesco Salvatore and Lorenzo Pinto, Futura aims to make the private tutoring experience accessible to everyone. The educational content is curated by the company and then expanded with user-generated additions. The AI-based platform optimises the study time and test scores by learning from past mistakes and targeting weak points with modular classes that adapt to students’ individual needs.

With Futura, students will learn new concepts at their own pace, and always be prepared and optimize the study time. It makes studying interactive and entertaining, all the while allowing them to advance their abilities in a simple click.

Speaking about the platform, Co-founder of Futura, Andrea Chirolli, said:

“We want to overcome the economic barrier that often prevents students from accessing top-quality learning and deliver personalised learning experiences across the globe.”

Taking the journey forward, Futura mulls expansion by hiring new talents and investing in the development of technologies to democratize learning. The startup claims that in less than two years it has over 1500 users and is growing at an average of 20% month over month.
