It was a historic moment for Amity Education Group when Amity University signed an MoU with Sekisho Corporation Japan, launching a new partnership between the two organizations and giving witness to the “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” ideology. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed to establish the Japan Desk at Amity University, Noida Campus, allowing students to seek placements in Japanese organizations, generating a talent pipeline at Amity campuses, as there is a great demand for young talent in Japanese companies.

The Japanese delegation was led by Mesaki Seki, president of Sekisho Corporation, and the other members comprised Kiyotoshi Araki, corporate planning chief, Sekisho Corporation, Masafumi Handa, Do Thi Thu Thuy and Eshna Sachdeva from Corporate Planning Team, Sekisho Corporation.

Under the MoU, Amity will provide the device and network environment as necessary and cooperate with Sekisho Corporation for the smooth functioning of the Japan Desk online. The Japan Desk will serve as a point of contact for Amity Students who want to find employment with Japanese companies. It will also serve as a point of contact for the Japanese companies that wish to hire Amity Students and will manage career-related events. In addition, it will help in facilitating exchange programs with universities in Japan and promote Japanese language courses.

Sekisho Corporation, Japan, established in 1908, began with the sales of petroleum products, and the company is currently seeking new talent to help it grow. With the help of the local community, it has expanded and diversified into areas such as living essentials, autos, IT solutions, and system development to become a general trade firm. Sekisho Corporation hopes to continue contributing to its community in the future, not as a firm and a consumer, but as fellow members of the same society.

Addressing the gathering, Mesaki Seki, President of Sekisho Corporation, Japan, stated:

The warm welcome received at Amity is genuinely unique and special as I have never experienced such a grand and heartwarming welcome. In Japan, 80% of the population goes to universities, and only 20% go for jobs after school. The MoU signing ceremony is exceptionally significant and is of a large magnitude, marking the beginning of fostering close ties with India. Sekisho Corporation is looking forward to working closely with Amity University and nurturing future leaders who can immensely contribute to the development of both countries. Though the partnership has been initiated online, we look forward to physically working with Amity students and building a fruitful association. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to work together for a brighter future for both countries, strengthening the India-Japan relationship.

As part of this initiative, Sekisho Corporation will provide relevant consultation for Amity Students who wish to work for Japanese companies and disclose related job information of those Japanese Companies. The company will also assist Japanese Companies or staffing agencies who want to hire Amity Students after confirming the required skills and relevant fields from which they wish to hire. It will also be responsible for arranging interviews to facilitate the Japanese Companies’ hiring process while helping Amity Students with job-hunting activities.

Highlighting the significance of signing the MoU, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University, said:

In Indian culture, guests are treated like Gods, and therefore, the presence of the esteemed dignitaries from Japan is highly significant to us. For any relationship to be nurtured, the values between the two entities must be in sync and Amity shares many common values with Sekisho Corporation. Amity is passionate about nurturing young talent, and this relationship will be highly successful since both organizations believe in giving back to society. This is a visionary initiative by Sekisho Corporation and Amity, which will lead to empowering both organizations. Employability is the most essential aspect at Amity, and Amity leaves no stone unturned to ensure that the students are placed at the best organizations in India and abroad. Amity treats its students like its children, and the partnership will immensely benefit the students who will become future leaders in all areas.

Amity Education Group, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, commented:

More than 250 Amity students have been placed at top Japanese Companies, including Sekisho Group, Grape City, NEC, Yamaha and Fujistu, Honda and Hitachi. Amity and Sekisho share a common philosophy of contributing to improving local society and life with a global perspective. Amity University offers training and consultancy to leading Japanese companies, including Maruti Suzuki, where Amity trains Graduates Engineering Trainees. Japanese is one of the most popular foreign business languages taught at Amity across the programs, and more than 1000 students at Amity are learning the Japanese language. Amity has collaborated with many renowned Japanese Universities, including the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Kyoto University, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Chiba Institute of Technology, Tottori University, Shibaura Institute of Technology and many more. It will continue to do so in future.

Amity institutions bring together the smartest and brightest academics, scientists, and students who all have one goal: to achieve extraordinary things that will make the world better. With the same spirit, the University of Noida has been established as a world-class hub of high-end, multidisciplinary research and education. It partners with the world’s finest scientists and universities in joint research, curriculum development, faculty and student exchange, and worldwide study and twinning programmes.
