Districts who use Clever to manage their student information systems can now integrate with Book Retriever. This gives their teachers control over their classroom libraries, dramatically reducing lost books and providing leveled book selection tools for supporting reading and literacy.

“Classroom libraries typically lose up to 20% of their books per year,” said Ken Mocabee, president of Capsa Labs. “Book Retriever reduces that loss rate dramatically, and our users report savings of up to 20 times the cost of their Book Retriever investment. Our new partnership with Clever allows schools and districts to quickly and easily onboard Book Retriever.”

Finding the right leveled book for young readers is critical. With over 600,000 leveled books in its database, Book Retriever helps teachers can find the perfect book for each student. “Book Retriever not only helps me manage my growing classroom library, but it also helps me find just the right books for students’ reading level and interest,” said Annette Kirk, English Language Arts teacher at Snook ISD.

The School and District levels of Book Retriever allow multiple administrators to manage the system. Administrators can view book inventories, lost books numbers and more. The admin portal also provides districts with aggregate reading statistics and trends of its students. Bookrooms are also supported as multiple teaches can also be assigned to one unifying library.

Schools and apps connect on Clever’s web-based platform to put next-generation software in the hands of students, helping teachers reclaim valuable learning time in classrooms. Half of U.S. K-12 schools and more than 225 apps connect on Clever to automate data integrations with online learning apps and simplify the login process for students and teachers.

About Clever

Clever was founded in 2012 by educators and technologists who knew that widely available educational apps could improve both teaching and learning, but that tools to deploy and secure the applications were simply unavailable. Today, half of K-12 schools in the U.S. trust Clever to secure their student data as they adopt learning apps in the classroom. In 2014, Clever won the ‘Crystal Clear’ award by the Digital Innovation Learning Awards. It is also the trusted provider of the American Federation of Teachers, who uses Clever to secure its own ‘Share my Lesson’ platform with its teacher members. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Partners, Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, and GSV Capital, Clever currently has 100 employees and is based in San Francisco, California.
