With the collaboration between Brac Bank and Ghoori Learning, the coworkers of BRAC Bank can now avail of 30 courses online at any time at their convenience. The courses are entirely free for the people of the bank. It covers a number of professional and soft skill domains, including Sales Training, Data Entry, Cybersecurity, Effective Business Analysis, Leadership Skills, and Negotiation Skills that will enhance the proficiency and understanding of the officials.

The cooperation was signed at Brac Bank’s headquarters in Dhaka. Akhteruddin Mahmood, Head of Human Resources; Umme Salma, Head of Learning and Development, Brac Bank; and Ashiqur Rahman Rean, Chief Growth Officer, Ghoori Learning, as well as senior executives from both organizations, attended the ceremony.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the learning initiative, Akteruddin Mahmood, Head of Human Resources of BRAC Bank, said:

As an employee-caring organization, BRAC Bank invests significantly in people development to help them acquire new skillsets for career progression. Our e-learning platform ‘ALO’ has been created to nurture a culture of continuous learning in the bank.

Mahmood added:

Ghoori Learning courses further boost resources of ‘ALO’. The courses have been selected and curated in light of requirements at the workplace of bankers. This will help our colleagues keep up-to-date with the evolving skillsets required in the corporate world and stay ahead of the curve. With ‘ALO’, we have embarked on self-development and capacity building. We will continue to add new courses to make it more resourceful for our coworkers.

Ghoori Learning began as a digital platform for English language learning and practice. The platform offers numerous new educational and skill development courses to enhance people’s lives through online education. As a result, it has enriched the website with high-quality courses that will assist everyone in learning a new skill and succeeding in life. It also provides courses in digital marketing, photography, graphics design, web design, and various other fields.

BRAC Bank Limited was set up to provide banking solutions to ‘unbanked’ Small and Medium Entrepreneurs. Inspired by its parent organization, BRAC, the world’s largest NGO, BRAC Bank launched small ticket loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to explicitly bring grassroots entrepreneurs inside the canopy of formal banking services. It is Bangladesh’s only member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV). GABV comprises 70 financial institutions from 45 countries that operate in Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America, and Europe, serving over 60 million customers and managing up to USD 200 billion in assets with a network of 80,000 employees.

As a values-based organization, Brac Bank invests significantly in people development through various training programmes to upskill their knowledge and efficiency level.
