The investment is said to be in the form of purchase of shares. As per the deal, Info Edge will hold a 25% stake in Coding Ninjas after the investment.

Operated by Sunrise Mentors Pvt. Ltd, Coding Ninjas was developed with the mission to train the next generation of developers and to transform the way tech education is delivered in India. The platform offers both advanced and beginner courses, including C++, Java, Python, Aptitude prep, Interview prep, Web Development, Android, Data Science, and Machine Learning.

Coding Ninjas has pioneered a proprietary online teaching platform, which completely mirrors the offline classroom experience into online, and thus delivers a world-class learning experience to students. Its online programming classes are adaptive and judge the codes instantly. It has a Teaching Assistant model which provides almost real-time doubt support for the enrolled students. The model is decentralized model with remote TAs, who are ex-students of Coding Ninjas, helping in doubt resolution throughout the course duration. The TA to student ratio is 1:10.

Highlighting its plans with the funding, Ankush Singla, Co-founder and Instructor, Coding Ninjas, said in a statement,

“We aim to penetrate deeper into the tech education market and further consolidate our position as the most preferred education partner for millions of college students. Info Edge is the de facto market leader in the hiring space, and this partnership will help us boost the placement side of our business. We are very excited to work with Info Edge India Ltd and hope to have a mutual exchange of knowledge and growth to take the business to new heights.”

The new funding will enable Coding Ninjas to scale its online technology education business, strengthen its technology and content, and help expand into new business territories. The company also plans to use the investment to scale its new offering Career Camp – a program which allows students to undergo a six-month-long online training and pay the fee after they are successfully placed with a job.

Commenting on the investment, Hitesh Oberoi, CEO, Info Edge India Ltd, said,

“We are excited to partner with Coding Ninjas. We believe that there are long term synergies between skill-based education and recruitment and this partnership allows us to have a play in this segment.”

Coding Ninjas claims it has so far trained 15,000 students and placed more than 5000 in tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and Amazon, among others.
