The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) and IDEAS NCBR, Poland, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership in artificial intelligence and the digital economy aims to enable IIIT-Delhi to excel further in areas such as joint research activities, exchange of doctoral students and researchers, exchange of staff, collaborative doctoral education, organization and participation in seminars, symposia, short-term academic programmes, and academic meetings.

In addition, as stated in the release, the development of joint projects will be presented to the European Commission and other reputable institutions to obtain adequate funds for joint research activities.

Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director of IIIT-Delhi, expressed his excitement about the new collaboration with IDEAS NCBR, saying:

This strategic partnership with IDEAS NCBR represents a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in artificial intelligence and the digital economy. By joining forces, IIIT-Delhi and IDEAS NCBR aim to create a synergistic environment for academic and research endeavours that will benefit both institutions and contribute to global advancements in these critical domains.

IDEAS NCBR sp. z o. o. is an AI research and development centre dedicated to fostering technology growth in Poland. It serves as a bridge between academia and business, fostering connections to advance artificial intelligence. The organization aims to build Poland’s largest platform for innovative research and educate a new generation of scientists focused on the practical application of developed algorithms and their subsequent commercialization in industry, finance, medicine, and other sectors of the economy.

Piotr Sankowski, President of IDEAS NCBR, stated:

A new chapter in academic and research collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence is marked by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIIT-Delhi, India, and IDEAS NCBR, Poland. Our shared goals in this rapidly evolving sector are to expand knowledge, encourage creativity, and equip the upcoming generation of world leaders with a robust and scalable infrastructure.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is accelerating toward becoming one of India’s leading comprehensive research-led teaching institutes. It has proven to be consistently responsive towards the evolving needs of society. It has set up the Technology Innovation Hub (TiH), under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems. This Technology Innovation Hub accelerates cutting-edge research, development, technology transfers, industry engagement, and entrepreneurial activities. IIIT-Delhi is also a part of the Delhi Science and Technology cluster and is addressing some of the hyperlocal problems through research.
