 reasons for some children failing to compete with other students, becomes slow in learning something and pay less interest in their studies.

Learning disability is a main cause for such failures. Students with a specific reading disability will have intelligence, but they can’t concentrate on anything, they can’t follow any instruction and they can’t overcome problems. These learning disabilities are due to the difficulty faced by nervous system in receiving, processing and communicating information.

Is your kid having learning disability or are you a teacher to such students (generally one in ten students suffers with learning disability)? Don’t worry! Where there is a will, there is a way!! Technology will make anything possible; there are many tech tools that will give solution for your query. iPad has recognized this problem and it’s implementing many apps for helping such kids with reading disability. Let’s see how those applications help your kids in overcoming their learning inability.

Speak it!:

Speak it! is the most advanced text to speech solution in the App Store. It’s an easily operated app; just enter the text you want to say and press the “Speak it” button. American Male, American Female, British Male and British Female are the four high quality voices included. You can copy emails, documents, web pages, PDF files, and more; paste them into Speak it!, and have the text spoken back to you with the highest quality text to speech engine available anywhere. You can even create the same quality audio files of the text to speech which can then be emailed to anyone you like. These features will surely be useful for those people who feel difficulty in pronouncing and reading.

SoundNote:

SoundNote tracks what you type and draw while recording audio, so you’ll never worry about missing an important detail. While playing back your recording, just tap a word; SoundNote will jump right to that point in the audio. SoundNote will help students who feel difficult to concentrate while listening; if they feel like missing any word, they need just one tap on the word you want to listen from.

Prizmo:

Prizmo is very useful app for those students who struggle with reading. It is a universal photo-based scanner app that lets you scan and recognize text documents, business cards, and images, and then export them as PDF/Text, vCard, or JPEG/PNG. It provides voice guidance to help position your iPhone when taking document pictures, and will find the text orientation automatically if it’s turned left, right or upside down. It’s having highly accurate OCR technology with 40+ languages. It will read those imported photo documents.

American Wordspeller:

American Wordspeller is a gift to many of those students who are not proficient in spellings. It’s very difficult to find meaning of a word if we don’t know how to spell it; we will always see an error message like “no matches found”. To overcome such problems, American Wordspeller was introduced; just type 2-3 letter of any word you think and you’ll see number of matching words. This app will also give very brief definitions for words you want to understand.

Reading Trainer:

Reading Trainer is designed to help students with reading disabilities; it will boost their reading skills and will make them a confident reader. This app with 12 challenging fun exercises provides everything you need to read texts of all types faster, more effectively and most of all, with better retention. Rapid recognition of numbers, letters and words, Flexible eye movements, improved ability to concentrate, increased vision span are the benefits.

Sentence Builder:

Sentence Builder is designed to help elementary aged children learn how to build grammatically correct sentences. Explicit attention is paid to the connector words that make up over 80% of the English language. Sentence Builder offers a rich and fun environment for improving the grammar of all children.

Idea Sketch:

Idea Sketch lets you easily draw a diagram – mind map, concept map, or flow chart – and convert it to a text outline, and vice versa. You can use Idea Sketch for anything, such as brainstorming new ideas, illustrating concepts, making lists and outlines, planning presentations, creating organizational charts, and more! This app will help learning disabled students in increasing respective skills.

It’s important to build self confidence in such children with learning disability. You can help your student or kid by engaging them with these apps.
