MSN Laboratories, a rapidly research-based pharmaceutical company in India, has forged a strategic alliance with Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division. This partnership enhances educational opportunities for their Self-Directed Teams (SDTs) within the formulation units. By equipping their professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge, this collaboration will enable MSN Labs to adapt to the dynamic global pharmaceutical industry and meet evolving business needs.

Under this collaboration, MSN Laboratories’ professionals will receive comprehensive training to operate machinery and perform various roles in different production departments. This training, conducted in close collaboration with senior staff members, is a testament to the quality of education provided by BITS Pilani. The partnership aims to ensure a seamless integration of knowledge and skills, driving sustained success in the pharmaceutical sector. Currently, sixty team members from the formulation branch of MSN Laboratories are enrolled in BITS Pilani WILP’s B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Science programme.

Dr. MSN Reddy, CMD of MSN Laboratories, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with BITS Pilani, emphasizing the company’s commitment to its employees’ continuous learning and growth. He stated:

As the leader of this rapidly growing research-based pharmaceutical company, I sincerely believe that the true strength of our success lies in our people. Engaging and nurturing internal talent is not just a principle but also the mission of our organization. We are committed to investing in their growth and development, ensuring we reach new heights together.

MSN Laboratories was established in 2003 to make high-quality medicines affordable and accessible worldwide. The organization has 25 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities (17 API and eight finished dosage facilities) in India and the USA.

Prof. G. Sundar, Director, Off-Campus Programmes & Industry Engagement, BITS Pilani, highlighted the value that professionals of MSN Laboratories can derive from this collaboration, said:

Considering the ever-evolving demands of the pharmaceutical industry, this strategic collaboration not only helps address the immediate need of MSN Laboratories for highly competent working professionals, but also aids them in nurturing a pool of skilled professionals over some time. Beyond numbers, more importantly, the focus is on providing quality education by maintaining the high standards BITS Pilani has known for several decades.

BITS Pilani is one of the few universities that has created a standardized framework for achieving a vibrant environment that successfully inculcates an ambience for experiential and cooperative learning and education. The institution views education as a continual engagement and experience. It ensures that the learning experience is integrated seamlessly across its classrooms, laboratories, and industry, as exemplified by its Practice School and Work Integrated Learning Programmes.
