NEC Corporation India (NEC India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, GLA University and Edulateral Foundation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a vision to empower students with a solid understanding of emerging technologies. Deepak Jha, GM, NEC Corporation India, Ashok Kumar Singh, Registrar, GLA University, Mathura, and Dr Pradeep Gnanapragasam, Executive Director, Edulateral Foundation, signed the MoU.

As an outcome of this collaboration with NEC India, the Department of Computer Engineering and Applications, GLA University, will launch the B.Tech (Honors) CSE program with a Specialization in Al and Analytics. In addition, NEC India will be offering its vector engine system alongside course certificates and an education program focused on ML, analytics and high-performance computing to help students develop the right set of skills and gain valuable exposure through hands-on training.

Edulateral Foundation, a non-profit organization centred around creating educational networks to promote employability and entrepreneurship among students, will offer its expertise in providing infrastructure support and training to set up an NEC India-certified laboratory as a Centre of Excellence.

Speaking on the partnership, General Manager & Head of Artificial Intelligence Platform, NEC India, Deepak Jha, said:

Today, as we move closer to achieving the vision of ‘Digital India’, there is an urgent need to bolster the education sector with AI and Data Analytics prowess. By synergizing our expertise and leveraging the potential of AI and Data Analytics, the talent pool of GLA University will be equipped with the experiential knowledge of the most cutting-edge technologies in the sphere of AI and Analytics. This collaborative initiative is a significant stride towards fortifying the education sector with digital transformation and preparing aspiring tech professionals to future-proof their careers and solve real-world challenges through cutting-edge technologies.

This is supported by the company’s history of driving innovation and R&D in India by continuously strengthening its research wing and establishing promising industry–academic partnerships with leading educational institutions across the country.
