Netsafe, New Zealand’s authority on online safety, has announced a commercial partnership with EduSpark to expand online safety education across Asia. This new collaboration establishes EduSpark as the first channel platform provider for Netsafe’s online safety education content in Asia, aiming to enhance online safety throughout the region.

EduSpark, based in Singapore, will leverage its advanced platform to distribute Netsafe’s online safety education to educators, students, and families, addressing key issues such as cyberbullying, misinformation, online privacy, and digital citizenship.

Embracing a technology-positive approach, Netsafe aims to help New Zealanders take advantage of the digital opportunities available while managing online challenges. The company does this by providing practical tools, support, and advice. It operates independently, adjacent to government and law enforcement, with an unwavering focus on online safety. Its mission is to keep people of all ages safe online by providing free support, advice, and education to all ages.

Speaking on the collaboration, Brent Carey, CEO of Netsafe, said:

It aligns with our long-term vision of empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to stay safe online, especially in regions where rapid digitalisation is reshaping educational landscapes. By combining our expertise with EduSpark’s innovative platform, we are substantially impacting how online safety education is delivered in Asia.

Netsafe and EduSpark aim to develop a range of online safety initiatives tailored to the diverse needs of Asian educational systems. These initiatives focus on promoting secure online behaviour and addressing digital threats. This initiative seeks to prepare students to navigate the digital world wisely and responsibly.

Craig Kemp, Co-founder of EduSpark, also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying:

We are excited to collaborate with Netsafe to bring their world-class online safety resources to Asia. As educators increasingly rely on digital tools, the need to equip students and teachers with online safety education has never been greater. This partnership will allow us to meet that need head-on, providing vital support to schools and communities across the region and a pipeline of high-quality cyber safety content for our users.

Founded by education technology expert Craig Kemp and Andrew Mowat, EduSpark provides schools with access to high-quality learning resources, tools and processes to enhance learning experiences, supporting schools and institutions across the region in their teacher professional growth journey. It focuses on transferring learning effort into observable development through its learning culture, constantly developing functionality and contemporary learning design.
