NSE Academy Limited (NAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has entered into an agreement with the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI), headquartered in Toronto, Canada, to improve the financial modeling capabilities of both professionals and students and prepare them for dynamic roles in global finance and accounting.

With the rise of data-driven decision-making and the growing demand for financial modelling skills in today’s job market, this partnership brings together NSE Academy’s extensive reach in the Indian financial education ecosystem and FMI’s globally recognized certifications. By combining resources and expertise, both institutions aim to deliver cutting-edge training and certifications in financial modeling, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to validate the critical thinking skills necessary for future-ready finance careers.

Speaking on the occasion, Ian Schnoor, Executive Director of the Financial Modeling Institute, said:

The Financial Modeling Institute is honoured to partner with NSE Academy to provide its financial modeling programmes and accreditations to students and professionals. Our programmes highlight key concepts and best practices in financial modeling, equipping students and professionals with the skills to succeed in a competitive landscape. Candidates who achieve FMI accreditations enhance their careers and add significant value to their organizations and clients.

As part of the alliance, NSE Academy will also integrate FMI’s certifications within its educational offerings, making it easier for students, aspiring finance professionals, and those in mid-career transitions to access internationally acclaimed financial modeling accreditations. These programmes will cover various essential topics including advanced financial analysis, investment banking, forecasting, budgeting, and valuation, providing a structured path from foundational knowledge to advanced expertise.

NSE Academy Limited enables the next generation of BFSI and FinTech professionals with industry-aligned skills – through capacity-building programmes and certification courses powered by an online examination and certification system. The courses are well-researched and carefully crafted with inputs from industry professionals. It works closely with reputed universities and institutions across India to build a competent workforce for the future of BFSI and FinTech.

Abhilash Misra, CEO of NSE Academy Ltd., added:

This partnership with the Financial Modeling Institute aligns with NSE Academy’s mission to empower students and professionals with industry-aligned skills. By incorporating globally recognized financial modeling accreditations into our programmes, we enable individuals to step into high-impact roles within finance and accounting confidently.

Financial Modeling Institute aims to promote awareness, excellence, and discipline in financial modeling globally through its world-class accreditation programmes. Through research and testing, the institute has developed exams that set the bar high regarding modelling skills and validation. The platform provides learning resources to support candidates and offers proctored, rigorous financial modeling exams. It also offers an introductory programme to financial modeling called FMI Foundations.
