With various specializations tailored to creative and professional growth, Grammy Go on Coursera includes courses taught by Recording Academy members, featuring Grammy® winners and nominees and offering real-life lessons learners can immediately put to work. Enrollment is now open for Grammy Go’s first Coursera specialization, “Building Your Audience for Music Professionals,” taught by Joey Harris, CEO of Joey Harris Inc. and an international music/marketing executive. The course will feature three-time Grammy winner Victoria Monét, five-time Grammy winner Jimmy Jam, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Through this specialization, participants will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to develop a devoted following and establish a powerful brand in the ever-changing music industry.

The alliance’s second course will begin later this summer and aims to strengthen a music producer’s audio and technology skills. “Music Production: Crafting An Award-Worthy Song” will be taught by Carolyn Malachi, Howard University professor and Grammy nominee. The course features guest appearances by 15-time Grammy winner Judith Sherman, three-time Grammy winner Hit-Boy, artist and celebrity vocal coach Stevie Mackey, five-time Grammy nominee and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. “Music Production: Crafting An Award-Worthy Song” is now accepting pre-enrollment.

Speaking about the initiative, Panos A. Panay, President of the Recording Academy, said:

Whether it be through a Grammy Museum® program, Grammy Camp® or Grammy U®, the Grammy organization is committed to helping music creators flourish, and the Recording Academy is proud to introduce our newest learning platform Grammy Go in partnership with Coursera. A creator’s growth path is ongoing, and these courses have been crafted to provide learners with the essential tools to grow in their professional and creative journeys.

Grammy Go is the Recording Academy’s first creator-to-creator learning platform. It is a vibrant, diverse, global community committed to empowering the next generation of musicians. It incorporates the knowledge and expertise of Recording Academy members, industry professionals, and Grammy winners and nominations into relevant, ongoing courses. Everyone who aspires to pursue a career in music can learn from the finest at Grammy Go—those who are not just reshaping, but defining the music industry of the future. It also acts as the newest digital hub for career pathways and editorial content that offers industry insights to anyone involved in the music industry.

Marni Baker Stein, Chief Content Officer of Coursera, added:

We are honoured to welcome Grammy Go, our first entertainment partner, to the Coursera community. With these self-paced online Specializations, aspiring music professionals worldwide can learn directly from iconic artists and industry experts. Together with Grammy Go, we can empower tomorrow’s pioneers of the music industry to explore their passion today.

The Recording Academy aims to recognize excellence in the recording arts and sciences, cultivate the well-being of the music community, and ensure that music remains an indelible part of its culture. The platform represents the voices of performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and all music professionals. The Academy honours music’s history while investing in its future through the Grammy Museum®, advocates on behalf of music creators, supports music people in times of need through MusiCares, and celebrates artistic excellence through the Grammy Awards — music’s only peer-recognized accolade and highest achievement. As the world’s leading society of music professionals, it works year-round to foster a more inspiring world for creators.
