The company said that the proceeds will be used to open new centers in Ho Chi Minh City and upgrade the current syllabus of designing, 3D drawing, and Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Founded in 2015, MindX, formerly known as TechKids, is a school chain for imparting new technology skills such as programming, robotics, design, 3D drawing, etc. It was founded with the goal of helping students, especially those in primary and secondary schools, to learn and experience skills in the most comprehensive way, integrating theory and practice in a startup environment. The company believes that students from the age of six could be trained to successfully program mobile apps for studying and entertainment purposes.

MindX aims to build an ecosystem that includes schools for new skill sets of the fourth industrial revolution – programming, robotics, design, and 3D drawing, among others. The startup also has a co-working space business. MindX current services include web, mobile apps, games, and consulting.

Speaking about the company and its work, MindX Co-founder and CEO Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said,

“MindX is working with leading schools in top countries worldwide, such as the US, Singapore, and South Korea, in order to select the most suitable method that fits Vietnamese students’ culture and learning style.”

Programming and science have become mandatory subjects from elementary school level at MindX. The startup said that it currently has five centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, training more than 8,500 students and working adults. It claims that its ecosystem hosts more than 200 domestic and international startups investment funds including Wefit, Ninja Van, and Nextrans Capital, among others.

Needless to mention, the lead investor in this funding round ESP Capital is focused on investing in seed-stage startups in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Since its inception in early 2017, the firm has invested in several companies including Luxstay.net, Ecomobi.com, Wefit.vn, Uiza.io, etc. Hope this fresh funding will enable MindX to fulfil its plans in opening new centres and upgrade its current syllabus to help Vietnamese students equipped with the skills required in this 21st century digital economy.
