In today’s data-driven corporate environment, financial analytics has emerged as a vital ability for firms to remain competitive. With massive volumes of financial, customer, and risk data generated daily, professionals must use modern analytical tools and technology to extract meaningful insights, drive strategic decision-making, and achieve company objectives. To address this skills shortage, the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) in Jamshedpur, ranked eighth by NIRF 2022, has announced the launch of an Executive Development Programme in Financial Analytics in collaboration with Emeritus.

This 10-month high-impact programme is developed explicitly for finance professionals aspiring to enter financial analytics. It aims to equip them to understand consumer demand, stakeholder concerns, and business impediments in real time. It also targets practitioners with complex financial data and analysts looking to boost their decision-making skills with advanced technologies.

The XLRI Executive Development Programme in Financial Analytics, designed by renowned XLRI faculty, includes live online sessions delivered by top XLRI faculty, engaging modules for an immersive learning experience, real-world case studies, peer-to-peer learning and networking, and a Capstone project. The modules of this programme include an introduction to the course, installing the software, an introduction to R, an introduction to Python, an understanding of machine learning, and an introduction to blockchain and cryptocurrencies, among others.

Speaking on the programme, Avnish Singhal, Executive Vice President, India and APAC, Emeritus, said:

We are excited to partner with XLRI Jamshedpur for the launch of the Executive Development Programme in Financial Analytics, designed to help professionals excel in a data-driven landscape. This programme uniquely combines practical skills in R and Python with hands-on projects tackling real-world financial challenges. By equipping participants with expertise in data cleaning, machine learning for fraud detection, and market trend analysis, we empower them to drive strategic decision-making and thrive in today’s evolving financial landscape.

XLRI’s vision is to nurture responsible global leaders for the greater common good and a sustainable future. It continuously scans developments in business and society and proactively tries to meet the challenges. Since 2002, XLRI Virtual Interactive Learning (VIL), a unique academic methodology, has allowed working professionals to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills through continuing education without taking a break from their careers.

The programme will begin on December 15, 2024, and the eligibility criteria are a graduate/diploma holder with at least two years of work experience.

Upon successful completion of the programme and maintaining a minimum attendance of 70 percent, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion. They will be eligible to receive XLRI Executive Education Alumni Status. Participants will develop expertise in financial data analysis using R and Python, apply machine learning for fraud detection, optimize investment portfolios, and perform sentiment and technical analysis to guide financial decision-making.
