Coronavirus, climate change, violence, inequality, inclusivity, job automation and democracies in crisis are some of the global challenges they are experiencing in these unprecedented times. How would they solve these problems?

Each month, we ask students all over the world to submit a video story about the problem they most want to solve. They are encouraged to share with us the solutions they will put in place when they have the opportunity to lead.

These are their stories:

Problem Solver Ju Lin is tracking the COVID-19 crisis and urging us to prepare now for the next one. Lin provides 12 strategies for societies to consider, including more public education and strengthening and co-ordinating global scientific research and development. How to Prepare for the Next Pandemic?

Justine DeJesus recognizes that every child has different strengths, weaknesses, and accessibility to education. Her story urges an inclusive, supportive curriculum for every student. How Can We Become More Inclusive?

Alina Alvarado is another Problem Solver learning from current events. She shares data and perspectives on how faith in Democracy is globally plummeting and what we can learn from the countries succeeding during these turbulent times. Is Democracy in a Global Crisis

Despite huge changes in the job market over the past 2 decades, today’s youth seem uninformed about the careers that do and do not exist. Emna BenCheikh shares data from a recent OECD report and discusses ways educators, employers and students can address the challenge of career confusion.  Career Confusion: Teenagers’ Job Expectations

Muhamet Hadzibrahimi addresses the problem of global violence. From understanding the causes to teaching tolerance, he hopes his perspectives can lead to peace being more than just a sign and becoming a reality. More Than a Peace Sign

Danissa Santos is also focused on tackling the problem of violence. She presents ways communities can prevent an increase in gang violence by targeting current troubled youth. Stop the Violence – Gangs in Schools

Christina Bak uses her Problem Solver skills to ally against the illegal pet trade. Bak illustrates how anyone can be an advocate against these cruel and inhumane acts against animals. Illegal Pet Trade

Courtney-Lynn Mellina discusses the increasingly global issue of climate change. She shares the leading causes as well as how each one of us can contribute to bettering our planet. Climate Change

Problem Solver Kyle Yizar’s video, Acid Rain, cautions us about the dangers of pollution to our environment and our health. Yizar offers a range of simple solutions that collectively could make a global difference. Raining Acid
