Online learning is a popular means of education. Since the Covid pandemic, it has become equally important to in-person classes. But whether you are pursuing self-education or your college has gone virtual, focusing on studies can be difficult at home.

Still, your professors will not care for your personal circumstances regarding homework. One option would be to write my term paper at PaperWriter services. It’s a reliable and easy-to-access option for those moments when you simply can’t complete that assignment. And as for the times when you are trying to improve your productivity at home, we’ve got you covered. Keep reading this post to find three tips for better productivity and retention!

Get a study space

Our brains like routine and structure. So, when trying to study from a different place every time, you might find it hard to focus. Instead, try establishing a study corner. Clear out your desk, making sure that only the necessary objects remain. Put away all the books that are irrelevant to the subject at hand.

Try to do your homework at the same time every day. After some time, your brain will get used to that schedule and go into focus mode when that time arrives. You’ll find it easier to jump right into studies and keep at it for as long as you need to.

Stop multitasking

Multitasking is the bane of our generation. Everybody thinks that you can watch TV while doing your homework. However, in reality, multitasking is just your brain quickly switching from one task to another. As you can probably imagine, it’s incredibly taxing for you. If you keep at it, you’ll get tired quicker, lose focus more frequently and find yourself unable to focus on one thing.

Instead, work in increments, using the Pomodoro method as your guide. Taking breaks is essential for improved focus, productivity, and consequent retention of information.

Take half an hour to study and then take a break for ten minutes to watch TV or something else. Keep in mind, though, that picking up your phone would be a bad idea. Short-form content is meant to reduce our attention span. So, if you open TikTok on one of your breaks, you may find it a lot more difficult to get back into work mode!

Teach others

An amazing way to see if you’ve really understood the topic is by teaching it to someone else. Once you’re done studying, come up to your parents, sibling or roommate and ask them to quiz you. The less they know about a topic, the better.

The questions they ask will help you determine whether you understand the subject fully. This method works wonders for retention and can also be used for test prep.

Wrapping up

Studying at your own pace can be great, but for many people, focusing at home is much more difficult. Try incorporating these three simple tips into your study routine and see how much easier it becomes!
