RED Health (previously StanPlus), an ambulance service provider, has acquired a majority stake in TACT Academy for Clinical Training, India’s first simulation-based healthcare training centre. The announcement was made during a press conference, marking a transformative step in advancing healthcare education and emergency preparedness.

According to the company, the acquisition represents RED Health’s mission to establish a global centre of excellence in allied healthcare, focusing on emergency medical services and pre-hospital care. The company also plans to prepare a workforce to address healthcare challenges in India and around the world.

TACT Academy for Clinical Training, established in January 2007, offers pioneering simulation-based healthcare training in India. It aims to provide an environment on par with international institutions and provide small group, interactive, hands-on clinical training to medical students, post-graduates, practising clinicians and other healthcare workers (nurses, physician assistants, paramedics, dieticians, respiratory therapists & physiotherapists, amongst others). The organization aims to equip every healthcare professional with appropriate knowledge, skill & compassion to provide the highest quality care while managing emergencies and critically ill patients.

As it becomes RED TACT, the academy will retain its legacy while expanding its reach and curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector. Through this collaboration, RED Health can ensure a steady pipeline of skilled personnel, enhancing both response times and the quality of care offered across its operations in more than 30 cities. This step also aligns with RED Health’s vision of establishing a 911-like system in India, ensuring emergency readiness.

Speaking on the deal, Prabhdeep Singh, Founder and CEO of RED Health, said:

A resilient emergency response system relies on the expertise and preparedness of trained healthcare professionals. TACT has built a remarkable legacy in simulation-based clinical training, and this collaboration is a critical step in strengthening the foundation of emergency preparedness in India. Together, we aim to create a healthcare training ecosystem that equips professionals with the skills and confidence to handle real-world challenges effectively.

RED TACT plans to develop a strong training network in key cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, and Bengaluru, drawing on RED Health’s expertise and national footprint. While maintaining its highly recognized existing curriculum, the academy will introduce fresh offerings such as a finishing school for healthcare professionals, bridge courses for recent MBBS graduates, NABH training packages, and other skill-based courses.

As part of its growth strategy, RED Health intends to integrate digital learning platforms to make quality training accessible across urban and rural regions. The collaboration will also facilitate partnerships with universities to create academic programmes that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Starting in 2016, RED Health’s cutting-edge technology, including its proprietary RED-OS system, enables prompt response times, with ambulances sent in less than 5 minutes. Through seamless interaction with smart devices, such as smartwatches, the company uses data to respond to emergencies, assuring rapid aid when it is most required. It now operates a fleet of over 450 ambulances and a network of 5000 partners across India, including air and train ambulance services, to ensure comprehensive coverage nationwide.
