According to officials, the subscription-based tools include Britannica School, Britannica Library, Britannica Professional Learning, and Britannica Connect. With this, Encyclopedia Britannica has shifted tracks from its bellwether print offerings and has entered the Indian EdTech market.

Speaking about the development, Sal De Spirito, Global Executive Vice President of Britannica Education, said:

Our mission is to inspire curiosity and the joy of learning by providing trusted, verified content that supports teachers and students. By empowering educators and nurturing skill-based growth, we aim to ensure that every learner—regardless of background—can achieve their dreams.

Founded in 1768, Britannica Education is part of the Britannica Group’s tradition of excellence in information, knowledge, and learning, stretching back more than 250 years, and is among the most credible sources of knowledge worldwide. It partners with educators, school districts, libraries, ministries, and media companies worldwide to inspire student curiosity and provide trusted, comprehensive resources to meet evolving teaching and learning needs. Having transitioned from print to digital, the company now offers a range of online resources that support critical thinking, research skills, and digital literacy for students and educators across the globe. It also serves the needs of students, lifelong learners, and professionals by providing curriculum products, language-study courses, digital encyclopedias, and professional readiness training through its extensive products.

Utkarsh Mishra, Director of Commercial Operations, Britannica Education India, stated:

India’s rich educational heritage resonates with Britannica’s legacy. By merging global best practices with local strengths, we bring research-driven, skill-focused, and future-ready learning solutions that empower schools, educators, and students nationwide.
