Building on the work of the Gap App Challenge, iZone is launching the Short-Cycle Evaluation Challenge with a call for cutting-edge personalized learning programs.
Short-cycle evaluations are twelve-week studies that assess the efficacy of an edtech program in terms of implementation demands and quality, participant reactions and activities, and preliminary educational outcomes.
The Challenge is an opportunity for edtech developers to work with New York City public school educators to improve programs that meet teachers’ most compelling needs. Ten evaluations will be conducted in the 2014-2015 School Year: five in the Fall 2014 Cohort, five in the Spring 2015 Cohort.
iZone has retained edtechnos evaluator, a joint venture of the edtech investment advisory firm Good Harbor Partners and the program evaluation team at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Reform and Research in Education, to support the Short-Cycle Evaluation Challenge. Edtechnos will review developer applications and make recommendations to the iZone for participation in this Challenge.
