Castnet Learning, Inc., a pioneering technology startup committed to transforming education, has announced that it has been acquired by Tustawi, Inc., a well-known online learning company with its headquarters in the United States and operations in Kenya. This strategic acquisition is a testament to the shared vision between Castnet Learning and Tustawi, both committed to making online learning more mobile, accessible, and intelligent.

The integration of Castnet Learning’s Whatsapp-based AI learning tool, Hello PLATO, into Tustawi’s lightweight AI-supported learning platform, will accelerate Tustawi’s growth in the educational technology sector.

Speaking on the deal, Rachel Fisher, Founder of Castnet Learning, said:

The Castnet team foresaw the AI-assisted learning revolution and the increasing mobility of the workforce. By leveraging conversational AI in chat environments like Whatsapp, Hello PLATO provides a modern upgrade to the LMS platforms of the 2010s. In seeking to push the sector forward, we’re thrilled to find a like-minded team in Tustawi.

As part of the acquisition, Rachel Fisher, a visionary in the AI-assisted learning revolution, and Jessica Millstone, a seasoned investor and Managing Partner at Copperwire Ventures, will be joining Tustawi’s team. Their deep industry expertise will bolster Tustawi’s vision and ensure a smooth transition.

Tustawi has already established itself as a leading developer and content supplier. However, its recently released AI learning platform offers all the features modern businesses—from expanding startups to more established ones—need to train and upskill their employees. Castnet Learning and Tustawi, Inc. work together to generate synergies that propel innovation and broaden Tustawi’s customer base.

Esther Nyauncho, Founder of Tustawi, added:

Moving forward. The company’s commitment to developing cutting-edge but accessible educational technology remains unwavering, and the team is enthusiastic about the opportunities.

Tustawi’s existing customers may begin utilizing Hello PLATO immediately, with full integration to the rest of the Tustawi portfolio expected by early 2025.

Castnet Learning, Inc. wishes to express its sincere gratitude to all the hardworking employees, devoted investors, and encouraging partners who have helped the firm succeed over the years.

Tustawi was launched in February 2020 to provide professional training powered by technology. It is dedicated to advancing and applying learning and knowledge to pursue a globally competitive African workforce. The company firmly believes in building Africa-centric solutions that are mindful of its reality, culture, and values. It seeks relevant partnerships that help drive towards the vision.
