and games into the classroom. There are tons of great books that enhance our kids’ learning, but all we need is to know how to engage them with such books.

Resin , an Adelaide based design studio, has tried a solution to turn the book–reading experience into something wonderful. With its first app Two Left Feet, Resin has implemented an awesome idea of enhancing the book-reading experience with augmented reality technique. Let’s learn more about it.

The app brings the book, Two Left Feet by an acclaimed UK Author and Illustrator, Adam Stower into real-life experience. Through the use of 3D augmented reality (AR) technology, children can experience the characters in the book in 3D animations.

About the Book:

The story takes place in a fantasy world where monsters live and they love to dance. These monsters live in  ‘dungeon world’ rooms carved into the cliffs of a mountain whose atop is the Glittering Palace, home to the King and the location for the Grand Ball. Through this book, the author conveys a great message that people should move on by learning through all the problems they face in life.

Children will learn about how our differences are often the things that make us special through the lead character, Rufus who loves to dance in spite of his Two Left Feet.

About the App:

This app brings Adam Stower’s magical tale “Two Left Feet” to life in this 3D animated adventure where the characters literally spring off the page. Let’s learn about its features briefly.

Modern day Pop up book:

Two Left Feet is a modern day pop up book as it transforms the book into a 3D animated adventure using Augmented Reality technology.

3D mode works with any version of the book:

The app works with all existing copies of Two Left Feet. Simply start at the front cover and turn over the pages when prompted by the voice to enjoy the Augmented Reality experience.

3D mode also works without the book:

This app helps you experience the story without having the book, all you need to do is to simply print out the included canvas image and experience the story just like the characters in the book.

2D mode featuring the original illustrations:

This app allows you to experience the original book’s 2D illustrated artwork with narration as a traditional eBook.

Share Photos:

It also allows you to take photos of any page and share them with friends and family.

App Specifications and Requirements:

Version: 1.03

Size: 233 MB

Language: English

Compatible with: iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Requires:  iOS 6.0 or later.

Price: $ 4.99

We hope this information is useful to know about a great idea that uses Augmented Reality technique to turn book–reading experience into a  wonderful 3D illustration. We’d like to know about more apps like these. If you know a few, please feel free to share with us in the comment box.
