Flipbooks connect students, teachers, and parents in an advanced way. Flipbooks leave the traditional classroom—one ruled by worksheets and paper and pencil activities—behind in favor of modern learning methods.

What is a Flipbook

An interactive educational experience, the flipbook is e-learning at its finest. Flipbooks are a digital update of the traditional textbook and the modern PDF, taking the best attributes of each of those materials and adding technological flourishes. Flipbooks combine information with innovation to give students both the things they need—strong foundational knowledge—and what they want—engaging technology that challenges as it informs.

Superiority to PDF’s

Flipbooks are superior to online PDF’s in almost every way. Flipbooks download quickly and offer a superior visual experience. Students can click through the pages of a flipbook rather than spend time scrolling through a PDF. Clicking to “turn” the page approximates the traditional experience of turning the page of a book. Flipbooks offer color, dimension, and the professional layout of textbooks. By replicating the format of textbooks, flipbooks take a classroom staple into the 21st century. With this technology you can even embed a PDF into HTML websites and blogs. It is fully readable online and there is no need to download a big file and view it in a third party software. Integrated audio, video, hyperlinks, and interactive buttons make flipbooks immersive and engaging. Flipbooks leave PDF’s in the dust; each student looks, listens, clicks, and learns at his or her own pace.

Superiority to Paper Handouts

Flipbooks are a green option. They eliminate time spent at the Xerox machine. Paper costs are a distant memory, as is the waste generated by paper handouts. At a time when budget cuts are the norm, eliminating the expense of photocopies can be helpful to many school districts. Flipbooks eliminate loss in a way paper handouts cannot. Teachers everywhere are familiar with students who lose worksheets. Flipbooks are online and, therefore, are a lossless resource. Gone are the days of students failing to complete assignments because they lost the worksheet. Flipbooks are always ready and waiting for students.

Students live with technology

It comes as no surprise that the elements of life outside the classroom are beneficial inside the classroom. Learners of all ages engage with technology, and it is the level of engagement that aids learning.Engaged students are ready, eager learners. Flipbooks are portable and available for a variety of platforms. With information accessible on tablets and phones, in addition to desktops and laptops, students can learn in any setting and at any time. Parents can access flipbooks and, in this way, be involved in their children’s educational experience. Involved parents facilitate learning by demonstrating interest. Parents share in the immersive experience of e-learning, and parental support is an essential part of the learning process.

Things to Consider

Flipbooks allow students to pace themselves according to their learning needs. Students have freedom to work through material, taking additional time when necessary. Flipbooks engage a variety of learning styles, making them effective across the board. Visual learners are engaged by graphics and integrated video. Auditory learners hear background music and sound recordings. Tactile learners can click on interactive learning tools. Flipbook software interfaces can be set to many language options. As a result, flipbooks are an essential tool for non-native English-speaking students. Flipbooks truly let educators to meet their students where they are. Rather than students adjusting to curricula, the materials presented in flipbooks adjusts to students. In addition, flipbooks foster collaboration. Online material allows students to connect both in the classroom and in the world. Flipbooks connect students to peers worldwide. Similarly, flipbooks connect educators; when educators connect students reap the benefits. Collaboration tends to strengthen educational materials, and every teacher seeks to provide students with the best educational tools.

Cost

Free websites and apps convert PDF’s into flipbooks. Some websites—FlipSnack Edu, for example—offer subscription services. However, flipbooks are affordable, especially when weighed against the cost of replacing textbooks on a regular basis. Flipbooks are editable and can be updated with ease. Educators strive to provide current information to students, and flipbooks are both timely and timeless.

Easy to Make, Easy to Use

Flipbook software offers effortless conversion from PDF’s. For teachers transitioning from paper handouts, flipbook software is user-friendly. It is easy to integrate information from the curriculum in a flipbook. Software also allows educators to input hyperlinks, email information, social media contacts, and RSS feeds into their flipbooks. Information from a variety of sources is integrated seamlessly.Tech-savvy students will love flipbooks because they are a cinch to use. The technology of flipbooks mirrors the technology of smartphones and tablets and, for the majority of users, is intuitive. New users will find flipbooks engaging and easy to use.
