The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for partnership was recently inked at the IIT Madras campus in the presence of Prof. V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Prof. Basant Kumar Mohanty, Director of Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT), Sambalpur University.

This collaboration not only fosters the sponsorship of cooperative seminars, workshops, and other academic meetings but also promotes the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Faculty from both institutions will collaborate in the supervision of exchange students and in joint research in disciplines of mutual interest, thereby enriching the academic landscape.

Commenting on the collaboration, Prof V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said:

It is extremely important that all Higher Educational Institutions develop strong collaborations and share their best practices. This is one more step that IIT Madras and Sambalpur University have taken together to realise the objectives of Viksit Bharat.

Sambalpur University is committed to creating and sustaining a transformative educational environment for its students, staff, and faculty in the fields of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies so that they become globally competitive through competency in respective domain knowledge, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills, with a heightened sense of meaningful community engagements and personal developments.

Prof Basant Kumar Mohanty, Director, SUIIT, Sambalpur University, stated:

This collaboration will help SUIIT to work closely with the faculty group of IIT Madras for curriculum development, student exchange programs through credit transfer, skill development programmes, joint research and collaboration on the emerging areas of AI, Cyber security, Chip Design and Green Technology. I thank Prof. Kamakoti, Director of IIT, Madras, for signing the MoU with SUIIT, Sambalpur University.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is known nationally and internationally for its excellence in technical education, basic and applied research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial consultancy. A faculty of international repute, a highly motivated and brilliant student community, excellent technical and supporting staff, and an effective administration have all contributed to IIT Madras’s pre-eminent status.
