GIFT.ed, an education technology startup incorporated in Singapore, has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding from investment holding company IMC Pan Asia Alliance.

The online education platform is a venture of Hong Kong-based think tank Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT) and will be set for beta launch in the second quarter of 2023. It will incorporate the think tank’s existing publications and executive education curriculum, which is based on 15 years of leadership programs and workshops.

The startup plans to tap its existing client pool to test the platform, with some already involved in platform design and course development.

Co-founded by Chandran Nair and Janet Teo, GIFT.ed aims to scale GIFT’s impact by tapping into millions of minds, empowering individuals and organisations with insights and understanding to redesign society.

The company’s practical insights and internationally acclaimed leadership learning curriculum has helped thousands of Fortune 500, Government and NGO leaders anticipate and navigate a turbulent 21st century. From developing ground-breaking solutions to the world’s plastic problem to challenging companies to radically rethink their business models, GIFT has always been at the forefront of disruptive learning.

Co-founder and CEO of Gift.ed, Janet Teo, who is leading the company’s operations out of GIFT’s regional office in Kuala Lumpur. According to Teo, the platform will be launched amid a growing corporate e-learning market.

Gift.ed’s educational content will also be based on insights from GIFT’s projects in agribusiness, fintech, and healthcare, among others. To personalize corporate education, the platform will match the client’s organizational goals and interests with relevant content.
