Ever wondered why the Internet – despite affecting almost every aspect of our lives – hasn’t really transformed the way we learn? Mail4Group.com, a fast-growing social learning startup from Europe that’s hitting the Indian market this spring, claims the ability to finally contribute to students lives.

And it seems like it’s here to stay.

Mail4Group.com is a free Internet service aimed at making student groups communication and collaboration easy and fun. At first sight it looks like a shared mailbox for your group but it has got a whole lot of value-added features: you can easily organize your class or group with a shared calendar, group chat, university forum among others. Each user has its own account, but the whole group shares one e-mail address.

Professors don’t need an account here to contact students – instead they can reach the whole group with a single email address (just like in mailing groups). On the other hand, students collaborate in a group in a way that brings to mind a mix of old-school forums and modern social networks.

On top of this no-nonsense infrastructure, active groups at Mail4Group.com gain access to the study notes database full of materials – study notes & exam questions uploaded by previous students from numerous universities. This convenient communication platform can effectively help you to prepare for exams and lets you stay in touch with your fellow students.

To give you some background, the company behind Mail4Group was founded in 2011, running an imensly succesful sister service for Polish students. Now the leading student collaboration tool, with 20% of Polish students served monthly, they decided to start growing internationally – with Russian ( Nash-Yashik.com ), Turkish ( Mail-Grubu.com ) and English ( Mail4Group.com ) versions added this spring. The English version is particularily targetted at Indian students given similar study habits there. The network has also launched a series of mobile applications for these markets.

How to get started with Mail4Group.com? In case your group is already using a shared mailbox with one of general-purpose providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or others), to get you started quickly Mail4Group.com can import your messages and labels, so that you don’t need to start from the scratch! Or you can create a new account for your group and invite your classmates by via e-mail or Facebook. Don’t want to create yet another account? – you’ll like the fact that Mail4Group.com also allows signing in with Facebook.
