In honour of Dr Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, MedCerts, a national online training provider strengthening the workforce through innovative eLearning solutions, is pleased to announce this collaboration with FocusQuest, whose partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) have helped over 80,000 African American students achieve their goals and advance educational equity. This partnership aims to provide minority students with expanded access to high-demand career pathways.

As part of this alliance, FocusQuest will offer minority students spanning both high school and college levels flexible allied health and IT training opportunities that lead to nationally recognized certifications. By equipping students with the skills to thrive in rapidly growing industries, this initiative will lead to rewarding and stable careers while helping to alleviate critical workforce shortages.

Commenting on the collaboration, Sean-Reed McGee, CEO of FocusQuest, said:

We strive to connect minority students with exceptional health-industry education. These programmes offer life-changing opportunities to pursue careers many students may not have thought possible. Our mission is to empower those with ambition but need guidance and resources to succeed.

McGee added:

The right partnerships create unique opportunities, opening new possibilities for students who dream of achieving more. This collaboration is about breaking barriers and unlocking potential.

This association seeks to level the playing field for minority students by providing them with the resources and training they require to succeed in today’s competitive employment market. FocusQuest’s commitment to aiding HBCUs and MSIs is consistent with MedCerts’ objective to make high-quality training accessible and effective.

FocusQuest is a student acquisition and success partnership (SSP) firm. Since 2021, the company has formed corporate alliances to directly build and educate the next essential workforce while improving the convenience of online educational programmes and developing student retention plans.

Robert Hiller, Director of Academic Partnerships at MedCerts, stated:

We’re thrilled to provide students with opportunities to pursue in-demand careers, earn certifications that lead to immediate workforce entry, and build a foundation for financial stability—or even support their journey toward earning a degree.

MedCerts specializes in certificates in high-demand fields such as Allied healthcare and information technology, and it provides career training through HD-quality video-based instruction, virtual simulations, games, animations, and more. In 2023, the platform introduced its Partner Solutions brand, which focuses on forming partnerships to bridge the gap between students, job seekers, employers, higher education institutions, and workforce agencies. This new company offers a variety of relationship arrangements, including recruitment, reseller, content licensing, and more. Since 2009, the company has created over 50 career programmes, trained and upskilled over 100,000 people nationwide, and collaborated with over 400 American Job Centers and 1,000 healthcare institutions to construct talent pipelines.
