Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, recently partnered with Buddha Group of Institutions, a premier educational institution in Karnal, to provide students with Pearson’s BTEC courses. An official announcement stated that this collaboration will introduce BTEC Higher Nationals (HN) Art & Design and Business Management courses at the Buddha Group of Institutions. Pearson BTECs are vocational skill qualification programmes developed with industry experts, offering diverse qualifications across different industries and sectors.

Pearson’s BTEC Higher Nationals programmes are internationally recognized higher education qualifications equivalent to a university’s first and second years, where Real-life scenarios are used for assessment and assignments. The platform claims to have more than 30 partners in India, including universities, colleges, international schools, and private training centres. Its qualifications are aligned with global economic needs and are recognized by employers. It offers over 24 subject areas with over 2000 qualifications ranging from business to digital technology to art and design to healthcare, enabling learners with skills relevant to the global workplace.

Established in 1984, Pearson BTEC (Business Technology and Education Council) are a progressive framework of vocational and skill-based courses, teaching and learning resources that support teaching flexibility, online and in the classroom. From fundamental learning to professional courses at the postgraduate level, the platform offers practical, hands-on learning experiences with necessary skills that support each learner at every step of their career journey.

Speaking on the partnership, Siddharth Parnerkar, International Sales Director of Pearson India, said:

India is committed to expanding vocational education, aiming to expose at least 50% of learners in the school and higher education system by 2025, by the National Education Policy 2020. Pearson has recently joined with the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) to address India’s urgent need for workforce development and upskilling. This cooperation aims to promote Pearson’s internationally acclaimed BTEC qualifications, aligning academic and vocational learning to meet global recognition standards set by education ministries and employers worldwide.
