Shri Dr. Vijay Kumar, CEO of Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), Government of Meghalaya, Shri Ram Kumar, Executive Director of MSSDS, and Parikshit Markanday, Senior Vice President and Chief Partnership & Growth Officer, TinesPro, announced in Shillong the first-of-its-kind training of 300 college students for Meghalaya. Meghalaya is also the first Northeast state to implement this initiative.

This programme will improve the employability index of students and address the rapidly growing industrial demand across the globe. It will benefit the students to bridge the skill-employability divide and gain immensely with new-age skills to enhance their career prospects. They will be capable of programming and designing front-end and back-end tools to run a business and help solve the scarcity of technical professionals in the ERP sector of India. The MSSDS has been at the helm of promoting several delivery mechanisms to enhance employability by integrating relevant skills in the youth of Meghalaya. They have been conducting skill mapping, organizing skill studies, and building competencies, leading to a pool of skilled human resources that can be absorbed across diverse sectors while generating self-employment.

Speaking about the development, Shri Dr Vijay Kumar, CEO of MSSDS, said:

Providing students with cutting-edge skills is essential for sustainable growth and development of our region. Our vision of ‘Skill India’ and ‘Skill Meghalaya’ can be achieved by involving our youth in the mainstream and providing our learners with opportunities to grow and excel in their careers. MSSDS is also committed to equipping our youth with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the digital age and scale on the national skill index. We welcome initiatives like this that lead to the transformation of lives in the region.

TimesPro provides various designed and selected learning programmes in multiple categories, sectors, and age groups. The platform offers employment-oriented early career programmes in the BFSI, e-Commerce, and technology industries, executive education for working professionals in collaboration with premier educational institutions such as IIMs and IITs, and corporate-level organizational learning and development interventions. It works with India’s largest MNCs in various areas to deliver upskilling and reskilling solutions to increase employability and build a strong workforce.

Parikshit Markanday, Senior Vice President and chief Partnership & Growth Officer, TimesPro, commented:

TimesPro is a pioneer in introducing future-centric technologies for upskilling our young learners and making them highly employable. Through this project, the youth of Meghalaya will be exposed for the first time to high-end Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) training and utilize it to run an entire business. It will lead to several students becoming entrepreneurs and creating a sustainable and financially independent workforce.

The programme in ERP training will be for students in the final year of their undergraduate management programme and technical disciplines. The training will also enhance the digital skills of B. Tech, MCA, and MBA students. Along similar lines, this initiative will address the need to improve the Employability Index of students and the rapidly growing industrial demands across the globe to create a sustainable and financially independent workforce. TimesPro aims to build a knowledge-based economic ecosystem with cost-effective programmes from the world’s best ERP Company.
