Wayside Publishing aims to give students a competitive advantage in a diversified, global workforce. The platform offers teachers resources to help children develop linguistic, intercultural, and critical thinking abilities in preparation for the future. It develops unique products for world language classes. The company’s array of language learning products and offerings is complemented by cutting-edge classroom solutions that combine the most recent approaches to language acquisition with tailored learning resources. Wayside Publishing is poised for further expansion as more teachers, districts, and state review committees select its proficiency-based products.

Speaking on the acquisition, CEO of Wayside, Meg Gorden, said:

Wayside Publishing’s strategic acquisition of Nualang represents a significant investment in advancing language education. Nualang’s high-end tools, designed for interactive and immersive language learning experiences, will be integrated to enhance Wayside Publishing’s existing language learning solutions. The collaboration aims to deliver dynamic and engaging learning experiences, fostering improved language proficiency for educators and students. This acquisition not only opens new business opportunities for Wayside Publishing both domestically and internationally but also reaffirms our commitment to become a leading EdTech entity, actively shaping the future of education through innovative and effective technology-driven solutions.

Wayside Publishing and Nualang’s combined expertise will be essential in expanding language learning and establishing new EdTech standards.

Wayside Publishing is excited about the possibilities that this acquisition presents for the company, its customers, and the education community at large. Greg Cawley, CEO of Nualang, stated:

Wayside Publishing is excited about the possibilities that this acquisition presents for the company, its customers, and the education community at large. “We are thrilled about the acquisition of Nualang by Wayside Publishing, as it marks a pivotal moment in our journey to redefine language learning through technology. With Wayside’s acquisition of Nualang, we are ready to reach new heights in innovation and impact. Our advanced world language learning platform, seamlessly integrated with Wayside’s Learning Site®, will empower educators and students with engaging language learning experiences. Together, we are excited to embark on this journey of transforming language education and become part of the Wayside Publishing team.

Through innovative conversation features, Nualang builds student confidence and proficiency by focusing on students’ speaking skills. Its intuitive interface and user-friendly tools enable teachers to create digital courses to help students achieve their language learning goals, making the experience easier and more effective for everyone involved. The portal helps teach languages through the art of conversation. Students can ‘learn by doing’ by engaging in roleplays with chatbots that listen and respond. These chatbots, a unique feature of Nualang’s tools, provide students with a safe and supportive environment to practice their speaking skills. Students can even create their own scenarios and games to get their students talking about the stuff they love or reuse community content created by other teachers.
