Zoho, a renowned global technology firm based in Chennai, has announced that it has enhanced its upskilling initiative, the Young Creators Programme (YCP), with a new ‘Train the Trainer’ module and revamped course curriculum. This module is designed to empower educators and trainers, making them integral to the programme’s success.

Through this module, YCP aims to train educators on building powerful applications leveraging low-code. It has also upgraded its curriculum to include AI capabilities in low-code application building, ensuring students are taught modern, tangible skills. As YCP continues to grow, it has expanded to six more states in India this year, partnering with 22 colleges and reaching tier 2/3 cities like Nagpur and Ghaziabad.

YCP was launched in 2022 by Zoho Creator, the company’s low-code application development platform, as a two-day learning programme to empower future business professionals—with minimal to no coding experience—to build comprehensive solutions. Since its launch, 45 YCP sessions have been conducted in India, benefitting more than 5,400 students across educational institutions. The programme’s growing popularity continues to attract students from non-tech backgrounds who appreciate bringing ideas to life without the need for deep technical knowledge. With YCP, students learn end-to-end application development with low-code leveraging Zoho Creator, in addition to mobile app deployment and Zoho’s proprietary programming language Deluge.

Bharath Kumar B, Head of Marketing and Customer Success of Zoho Creator, commented on the initiative:

At Zoho, we believe that technology should be accessible to everyone. With YCP, our aim is to democratise technology education, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in building applications and solving real-world challenges without being limited by technical expertise. With the introduction of the Train the Trainer module, educators can now be equipped with the tools and knowledge to upskill an even larger pool of students. Our aim is to empower the next generation to not only consume technology but also create it.

The new Train the Trainer module offers educators a comprehensive 20+ hour intensive workshop, featuring advanced sessions and equipping them with the essential tools and resources to master low-code. This module is designed to help the trainers develop their expertise to teach and mentor others, creating a multiplier effect in knowledge-sharing and professional development for students. By participating in this module, educators will not only enhance their own skills but also contribute to the growth and development of their students, preparing them for the future job market.

According to Nasscom, India has the lowest technical talent demand-supply gap among global tech leaders. However, given the growing demand for digital expertise, this shortage is expected to expand by 2028. To overcome this, businesses and academics must collaborate. This collective effort is crucial to develop industry-specific and skill-focused courses that will equip students with future-ready abilities. This is why the updated YCP curriculum includes interactive workbooks that provide students with problem-solving skills that will allow them to confront real-world challenges.

With the increased demand for AI, the course also covers training students in AI models that can find patterns in historical data and generate predictions, conclusions, or interpretations, thereby improving their data-driven decision-making abilities. This practical experience will make students feel confident and prepared for the future. With these additions, students will gain the practical experience required to create the next generation of enterprise-grade applications. Furthermore, to facilitate self-paced learning, the programme will now provide on-demand training resources, allowing students to upskill independently, outside of a typical classroom setting.

Upon completion of the training, students will also get free access to Zoho Creator’s enterprise edition for three months.

Zoho Creator, launched in 2006, has empowered businesses to build over 7 million custom applications globally through its intuitive, drag-and-drop interface. By bridging the gap between IT professionals and citizen developers, the platform enables organisations to create, customise, and deploy scalable web and mobile applications effortlessly, streamlining processes, fostering innovation, and providing seamless integration with robust security measures. With its user-friendly approach, it revolutionises application development, making complex software solutions accessible to businesses of all sizes.
