Dan Gilbert: The Surprising Science of Happiness

This is amongst the best TEDx talk where Dan gilbert, a successful businessman and investor, explains almost everything about happiness’s existential qualities anyway. Further highlights, one great thing is that achieving happiness only takes minimal effort on your part. Your brain has incredible adaptive skills and can be happy in any situation. So you just have to let your brain be happy rather than constantly thinking that you’ll be happy when you get what you don’t have. He insists upon “Enjoying the present. Enjoying accessibility when it becomes accessible.”

Margaret Heffernan: Dare to Disagree

In her speech, Margaret Heffernan, the blogger, former CEO and TV producer, demonstrates that only humans want to avoid disagreements and conflicts. But, encourages you to do the exact opposite in both his books. She challenges readers to push against their comfort zones to spark vital conversations and positive change.

In addition, discusses why inviting objection in our work can change things. While we are biologically attracted to people who think like us, Heffernan questions the value of being around peers who have feelings of affection.

AndyPuddicombe: All it takes is 10 Mindful Minutes

Andy Puddicombe is a British author, public speaker and teacher of meditation and mindfulness. In this TED talk, he affirms that you can prevent yourself from the overwhelming feeling of stress by taking just 10 minutes out of your day to live in the present. These 10 minutes can take you to a place where you can be completely alone and take in your surroundings. Also, suggests adding juggling to force your mind to the present.

In actuality, he describes the transformative power of doing just that: Refreshing your mind for 10 minutes a day, simply by being mindful and experiencing the present moment and have a good time.

Larry Smith: Why You Will Fail to Have a Great Career

A gripping Ted Talk from Larry Smith, Professor of Economics at the University of Waterloo in Canada and career coach. He says there are millions of excuses for preventing you from taking any desired action. This prevents so many amazing people from reaching their professional potential. All these little missed opportunities and excuses for not taking part stop people from having great careers.

His TED talk addresses the reasons behind not taking any action and inspires listeners to work for their passion keeping all the excuses aside.
