The startup had only recently raised $3 million in a Series A funding round in November 2019 from angel investors including Ronnie Screwvala (Founder, Unilazer Ventures), Ananth Narayanan (CEO, Medlife), and Anupam Mittal (CEO, Shaadi.com), Vikrampati Singhania (MD, JK Tyres), Arihant Patni (MD, Patni Wealth Advisors), among others.

Founded in 2019 by Sahil Sheth, Lido Learning offers high-quality live, interactive tutoring sessions to students of class 5 to 8. The startup provides classes in Math and Science through a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, frontier technologies, personalized content and more. Lido offers exciting and fun learning experience with cutting-edge content like animated videos, interactive games, quizzes, personalized platform for homework, tests, challenges, with expert tutors from across the country.

Talking about the company and online learning, Sahil Sheth, Founder and CEO of Lido Learning, said in a statement,

“Lido Learning is actively disrupting the K-12 market. Considering the current global pandemic, learning online has become the need of the hour. This is pulling the Indian market towards adopting online tutorials much faster than initially expected and is a huge tailwind enabling us to become a dominant category creator within a short span of time.”

Lido Learning’s small group format ensures every student receives enough attention, coaching, feedback and doubt clearing. The platform tracks students’ performance from the beginning to the end by personalizing their learning journey.

Lauding the company’s rapid growth, product innovation and strong team, Florian Reichert, Partner at Picus Capital, said,

“Lido Learning has built a very comprehensive and targeted product to take the Indian tutoring market online and to deliver real value to its students. The tremendous growth in the months since launch has proved the great product-market fit they have found. We are excited to be a part of the vision of improving the access to and quality of education – one of India’s largest and most important sectors – together with such a strong team.”

Currently, Lido Learning caters to classes 5 to 8 in Math and Science for ICSE and CBSE boards. It plans to launch more courses like English and Social Studies, and start to offer classes for the K12 segment, and expand to various state boards.
