The Government of Odisha recently launched virtual e-Lectures on a specialized tutoring platform for students pursuing higher education in the state. Chittaranjan Patra, the Special Secretary and State Project Director (SPD) of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)-Odisha, informed the Registrars of public universities and Principals of all government and aided colleges of this development in a letter to the Registrars of public universities and Principals of all government and aided colleges.

According to sources, the Higher Education department has taken the initiative to explore and promote e-Lectures on the virtual tutorial platform under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).

The initiative in the field of education, which holds immense potential for both the students and the faculty, has been taken under RUSA. Utkal University, as a pioneering institution, was entrusted with developing e-Lectures through a state-of-the-art virtual tutorial studio established for this purpose.

An exclusive web portal, https://vtputkal.odisha.gov.in, created by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), has been launched to facilitate this initiative. The portal hosts e-Lectures for core papers of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semesters in eleven subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Political Science, Odia, History, English, Psychology, Commerce, and Economics.

Chittaranjan Patra, the Special Secretary of the Department, commented on the initiative:

Encouraging your students to explore this resource will not only supplement their studies but also contribute to the overall growth and adaptation of technology in education. The e-Lectures cover a wide range of subjects, ensuring that students from various disciplines can benefit from these valuable resources.

The effort aims to enhance the learning experience by delivering high-quality educational content in a digital format that students from all disciplines can use.
