Stimy AI, a Polish-founded AI math tutor that analyzes handwritten problems and provides instant feedback with personalized guidance, recently raised $425,000 in a pre-seed funding round to expand globally and enhance its AI capabilities. Simpact Ventures and AIP Seed backed the funding.

Established in 2023 by Mark Zollner and Wojciech Drezek, Stimy AI aims to support children globally between the ages of 10 and 18 struggling to learn math. The AI-based platform analyzes each step of a student’s work, offering personalized guidance and accurate solutions in algebra, calculus, and arithmetic. Available 24/7 through a math chatbot and engaging puzzles, the app creates a stress-free, self-paced learning experience, delivering free, high-quality math support anytime, ensuring a confident learning journey for every student.

Speaking about the development, Stimy AI’s team stated on LinkedIn:

This investment will supercharge the next chapter of our journey to revolutionize math education for millions of kids. It’ll enable us to scale globally and improve our proprietary AI to continue to deliver unique capabilities kids want and don’t exist. Our AI is additionally more accurate in math and faster than GPT-4o and o1.

Like a professional tutor, Stimy can examine the assignment and provide suggestions, support, or solutions for learners. One can get clear step-by-step answers to any math question, including those with several subquestions and written explanations. The platform lets users quickly prepare for tests with questions tailored to the subject matter. One can scan math questions for the test. Stimy then generates practice test questions before scoring them and providing tailored assistance.

Dariusz Żuk, Managing Partner at AIP Seed, added:

First of all, Mark Zollner is an exceptional entrepreneur with a wealth of experience, both from successful startup projects and those that failed which is also a valuable lesson. His global experience mentoring startups gives him a unique perspective on business. Stimy AI has the potential to solve complex mathematical tasks and show students the various stages of reasoning. This is the first step toward creating a comprehensive educational application that could go beyond just math in the future, sparking hope and excitement for the possibilities ahead.

Krzysztof Grochowski, Partner at Simpact Ventures, also commented:

Millions of children struggle to learn math. The problem is particularly pronounced in communities with limited access to education but affects students worldwide. By personalizing learning, AI will help anyone, regardless of location or resources.

With this funding, Stimy AI plans to enter new markets by making the app available to another 100 million users through more than a dozen new language versions and introducing additional features to increase engagement and learning efficiency.
