CineTRAIN, a leading provider of online educational solutions for the cinema industry, is thrilled to announce its partnership with the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) to launch a new and engaging online technical training programme. The collaboration aims to address the growing need for accessible and comprehensive education within the cinema technology sector.

The first certification programme, “Fundamentals of Presentation Technology,” will give users insights into the latest advancements and best practices in cinema technology. Users will engage with content, complete assessments, and ultimately earn a certification. This programme, a convenient alternative to the travelling educational seminar the ICTA has hosted at numerous trade events over the past year in partnership with the Cinema Foundation, which shares the name “Fundamentals of Presentation Technology”, will be accessible to all, particularly for those unable to attend the seminars in person.

CineTRAIN provides a proven system for decreasing the time and cost of employee training, boosting employee retention and engagement, improving the guest experience, and increasing revenue at the point of sale. Its content includes cinematic videos and interactive eLearning modules designed to maximize learner engagement and ensure that lessons are committed to memory for your theatre employees. This approach is proven to help new hires get up to speed, resulting in more competent and confident cinema employees.

Brett King, CEO of CineTRAIN, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating:

At CineTRAIN, we are committed to empowering beginners and professionals in the cinema industry with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Our collaboration with ICTA represents a significant step forward in achieving this mission. Through our online training programme, we aim to bridge the gap between traditional learning methods, accessibility, and the evolving needs of the industry.

While the programme will launch initially with the Fundamentals of Presentation Technology, we are excited to share our plans to develop a full cinema technological certification path, a future that promises even more comprehensive and advanced learning opportunities.

The ICTA is a trade organization representing companies involved in cinema technology, including leading cinema equipment manufacturers, dealers and service companies worldwide. Its members are responsible for producing all the equipment used to present features on the Silver Screen in movie theatres worldwide. They manufacture digital cinema systems, lenses, sound equipment, seating, 3D technology and more.

Frank Tees, President of the ICTA, shared his perspective on the initiative:

The partnership between CineTRAIN and ICTA reflects our shared dedication to advancing education and professional development within the cinema technology community. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations, we can provide participants with unparalleled access to cutting-edge content and practical training opportunities.

The programme will be unveiled at ShowEast in October 2024.
