Global EdTech company CodersTrust, headquartered in New York City, has made a significant stride in its mission to provide job-ready skills worldwide. It has partnered with City College of New York (CCNY), the flagship institution of the City University of New York, to offer upskilling courses and job-ready certifications to students. This collaboration is a testament to the global outreach vision of CCNY, which aims to expand through overseas enrollments, academic collaboration, and student exchanges.

The signing of the partnership took place at the CCNY campus in New York, with the Hon’ble Secretary General of the South Asia Associations of Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, in attendance. He commended CodersTrust for its pivotal role in transforming unemployed and under-employed individuals, particularly the younger population and women, into a skilled workforce in both Bangladesh and worldwide.

The agreement was signed by Aziz Ahmad, Chairman of CodersTrust and Professor Dr Juan Carlos Mercado, Dean of the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Professor Joyce Moy, Executive Director Emerita of the Asian American/Asian Research Institute (AAARI), of the City University of New York (CUNY), former Secretary of Education of Bangladesh Mr Nazrul Islam Khan, Melissa Wild, Special Advisor to UPEACE, and Md: Shamsul Haque, CEO of CodersTrust.

Dr. Juan Mercado praised CodersTrust for its focus on the younger population and women from underprivileged, underserved, and underemployed backgrounds. He added:

This agreement with CodersTrust is very important to us, especially City College Continuing and Professional Studies. This will allow us to offer training for crucial job markets in great demand today, especially to marginalized communities on a global scale.

Through talent sourcing and hiring solutions for employers, CodersTrust is innovating a vertically integrated, multi-sided digital education and work platform that turns unemployed and underemployed people into “JobReady” skilled workers, connecting them with local and global job opportunities. Additionally, through the digitalization and cross-syndication of courses, the platform opens up new markets and revenue streams for traditional academic institutions and training providers. The company was established in 2014 and has grown steadily since, expanding across new populations (youths, teachers, women who head households, etc.) and new markets, including Bangladesh, USA, Europe, Malaysia, Kenia, Kosovo, Polland, India, Bhutan, Somalia, and Bosnia.

CodersTrust Chairman Aziz Ahmad stated:

This partnership has a deep personal significance as I am a CCNY graduate and indebted to the institution. I am happy this collaboration offers me an opportunity to give back and share in the responsibility of addressing the needs of the underserved in the US and globally.

The collaboration between CodersTrust and CCNY will kick off with a comprehensive range of 25+ learning paths. These paths will cover cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Big Data, Cybersecurity, Cloud, DevOps, and Blockchain, along with essential technical and business skills for the modern digital economy.

Since its founding in 1847, the City College of New York (CCNY) has been faithful to its legacy of access, opportunity, and transformation. The institute advances knowledge and critical thinking and fosters research, creativity, and innovation across academic, artistic, and professional disciplines. As a public institution with a purpose, CCNY produces citizens who impact the cultural, social, and economic vitality of New York, the nation, and the world.
