The Mangaluru-based Expert Group of Institutions has launched a cutting-edge AI-powered learning platform, ‘Expert e-Learn’. The app is designed to transform the educational landscape for PU science students. The event featured guest speakers, including Legislative Council member Dr Manjunath Bhandary and IT entrepreneur Rohith Bhat. During the ceremony, Ankur N Nayak, IT Director of the Expert Group, introduced three new innovations: ‘Expert e-Learn’, the AI-based ‘EZ’, and the extensive study platform ‘Expedition’.

The Expert e-Learn app features video lessons of approximately 10 minutes each, during which AI poses questions. The video continues only if the student answers correctly; otherwise, it restarts for review. This approach mimics the interactive nature of classroom teaching. Starting this academic year, the Android-based app will be available to students in Expert Pre-University College and Expert Coaching Classes. It will be accessible to the public starting next academic year. Both students and teachers will benefit from this app.

Speaking at the launch, Ankush N Nayak, Director (Information Technology), Expert Group of Institutions, said:

‘Expert e-learn’ is designed to enhance the learning experience for PU (pre-university) science students. It is currently available to students enrolled in Expert’s colleges and coaching classes through an Android-based app. He said it will be accessible to the general public starting next academic year.

Nayak further highlighted the platform’s features, stating:

‘Expert e-learn’ app caters to students who need additional support in understanding complex classroom concepts. The platform offers educational videos created by Expert teachers. Each topic is broken down into concise 10-minute videos, incorporating interactive questions to engage students. Success in answering these questions allows students to move forward.

The ‘EZ’ feature, powered by AI, provides precise answers and explanations when students type in their queries. It offers information based on NCERT and Expert Publishing House textbooks and delivers more accurate responses than other search engines. This feature helps students better understand the subject and supports effective revision.

The ‘Expedition’ feature aims to sustain the curiosity and engagement of younger students by presenting lessons in diverse and interactive formats. It covers subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Statistics, English, Kannada, Sanskrit, and Hindi. While it is available in book form, it will also be accessible digitally via the Expert e-Learn app.

The ‘Expert e-Learn’ app is designed to enhance interest in subjects and provide solutions to problems creatively and effectively. Students can ask questions, seek clarifications, and access model exam questions with immediate feedback and key answers. Additionally, online tests for degree and competitive exams are available. To ensure security, the tablets provided to students only support the Expert e-Learn app and prohibit downloading other applications. The usage is closely monitored in the Expert server room. These devices are deactivated from 11 pm to 5 am to maintain discipline and health, with only the alarm function operational.
