Google provides high-quality resources for the educators to meet all needs of teachers and students.

Google Drive is a useful application and has become the sharing solution for millions of users worldwide. A lot of users access it every day and for those millions of teachers and students Google Apps for education is pretty useful.

From time to time Google keeps launching new services or add-ons to their current services and recently Google has launched Drive for Education, an extremely large, ultra-secure and free bookbag for the 21st century.

Drive for Education will be available for free to all Google Apps for Education customers and will include:

  • Unlimited storage: Drive for Education will have unlimited storage capacity. Users do not have worry about how much space is left and who needs more gigabytes. The drive also supports individual files up to 5TB.
  • Vault: Google Apps Vault will be free to all Apps for Education users by the end of the year.
  • Enhanced Auditing: auditing and reporting tools and an Audit API simply let users to see the movement of a file, are on the way.

All of this comes with the same world-class security that protects all Drive users. Every file uploaded on the Google Drive is encoded, from your device to Google as well as in transfer between Google data centres and on the rest of the servers.

Announcing Drive for Education, Ben Schrom, PM Google Apps for Education wrote, “We want educators and students who use Google Apps for Education to be able to focus on the learning experience—not the technology that supports it. With Drive for Education, users can put an end to worries about storage limits and more easily maintain a safe, effective and compliant learning environment.”
