Many librarians have started writing their online blogs in order to publish their content online and are reaching audiences worldwide.

Though everyone has his or her favorite; below is a list of some of the most popular library and librarian blogs which you can add to your favorites.

1) Bobbi Newman’s Librarian By Day

It’s just the right blog for all those librarians who are interested in emerging rise of digital technologies. Bobbi is the author of her Award Winning Blog, ‘Librarian by Day’, and in 2011 was named a ‘Mover and Shaker’ by Library Journal.

2) Mighty Little Librarian by Tiffany Whitehead

Tiffany Whitehead is the school librarian at central middle in Baton Roughe, Louisiana. She has served as the prudent for ISTE’s librarian network and was recognized as one of the emerging leaders 2014.  

3) Librarian.net by Jessamyn West

His blogs are widely known for the quality of content and the vast coverage of the topics. He writes about library-oriented things and about his own work within the library profession.

4) Librarian In Black by Sarah Houghton

Sarah Houghton is working as the director of San Rafel Public Library, California. She has worked with State and National Library Advocacy Organizations including Infopeople, California Library Association, American Library Association. She was named in Library Journal Mover and Shaker as a Trend Spotter in 2009. A big technology nerd and believes that libraries have power to change lives.    

5) The Shifted Librarian by Jenny Levine

She is working on this blog to make libraries more portable. For her, “the change from pursuing information to receiving information is and will be affecting libraries”.  

6) Free Range Librarian by K.G. Schneider

Her blog is about librarianship, writing and everything else. She is the Dean of the Library at Sonoma State University.  She has been published in The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2009, The Best Creative Nonfiction Volume 2, Gastronomica, White Crane, Nerve, Ninth Letter, Linux.com, IT Managers Journal, American Libraries, Library Journal and a lot more!

7) The Travellin’ Librarian by Michael Sauers

Michael Sauers is currently the Director of Technology for Do Space in Omaha, NE. She has been training librarians in technology for the past twenty years and has also been a public library trustee, a bookstore manager for a library friends group, a reference librarian, serials cataloger, technology consultant, and bookseller since earning his MLS in 1995 from the University at Albany’s School of information science and Policy.

8) The Book Nest – Tompkins HS Library By Michelle Tuttle.

She is a book lover and a school librarian. Currently works as a secretary at TeenBookCon. Considers herself as a social media fanatic. 

9) David Lee King

His blog is about the social web, emerging trends and libraries. David Lee King is the Digital Services Director at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, where he plans, implements, and experiments with emerging technology trends.

10) Look out, honey, ‘cause I’m using technology by Jenny Arch

She started her library blog in January 2011 to share knowledge with other library students and librarians.  She is currently an adult services librarian whose collection development areas include adult fiction books and audiobooks, speed reads, and digital content. Follow her blog for information on all these topics, as well as for insights about being a librarian today.

  

11) Justin The Librarian by Justin Hoenke

He loves being a librarian and has worked in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maine. Currently, he is the Coordinator of Teen Services at a library in Southern Tennessee. He likes his job as Coordinator of Teen Services as it makes him think differently about how libraries can best provide service to their community in the 21st century.

12) Mr. Library Dude by Joe Hardenbrook

He blogs about libraries, technologies and a lot more! Currently, works as a reference and instruction librarian at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA. His blog’s archive began in February 2011.

13) Screwy Decimal “tales from an Urban Librarian” by Rita Meade

She is a librarian and contributing editor & podcast host for BookRiot. Her writings have appeared in various places, including American Libraries Magazine, Huffington Post, The Village Voice and a lot more! Her blog won the Salem Press Library Blog Award in the ‘Quirky Category’ in 2012.    

14) Not So Distant Future by Carolyn Foote

A “techno” librarian at a large public suburban high school in Austin, Texas. Passionate about how technology can transform schools and libraries.  

15) The Ubiquitous Librarian by Brian Mathews

Brian Mathews is an associate dean for learning and outreach at Virginia tech. his blog is about designing better user experience and the pursuit of use sensitive libraries. His blog’s primary audiences are librarians.  

16) Jason the Content Librarian by Jason Eiseman

He is the Librarian for Emerging Technologies at the Yale Law School Library. Before that he was the Computer Automation Librarian at a law firm in Portland, Oregon. Jason Eiseman is interested in all things related to web and technology.  

17) Bulldog Reader Blog by Julie Hembree

User can find information about new books, reviews, lesson ideas, events, visiting authors and all the important and fun information about reading from her blog. 

18) Heart of The School by Caroline Roche

I am a school librarian who loves being a geek! I also created the Heart of the School Website which showcases best practice in UK school libraries. I am on the CILIP School Libraries Group National Committee.

19) Old Town Library by Keri Rabe

The blog is perfect for those who love books. On her blog you can read e-books, access e-library for print and digital books as well as research.

20) WoodCreek Junior High Library

There is a collection of more than 17,000 resources, which include books, periodicals, audiobooks, and audiovisual items. The mission of the WoodCreek Junior High Library is to provide a welcoming environment rich in literature and resources, which incorporates curriculum, technology, and staffing.
