Medhavi Skills University (MSU), a leader in promoting skill-based higher education, has embarked on a transformative journey by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Vedic Maths and Abacus (IIVA), an NSDC Approved Training Partner. This transformative collaboration aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 mandate of skill-based education. It aims to offer courses to upskill and reskill individuals interested in teaching Vedic Mathematics and Abacus.

Under this partnership, MSU and IIVA will exclusively curate Training of Trainers (TOT) courses to equip educators with the new-age skills necessary to teach ancient and modern mathematical techniques. Two professional courses are being launched under this partnership: Certificate in Vedic Maths and Certificate in Abacus. The duration of the two certification courses is up to 6 months.

These courses are recognized and approved by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and aligned with NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework)/ NHEQF (National Higher Education Qualifications Framework). Successful candidates will receive digital certificates and verifiable transcripts through Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), and Digi Locker.

Speaking on the strategic collaboration, Pravesh Dudani, Founder and Chancellor of MSU, said:

India has a rich heritage in mathematics, with significant contributions to the field through Vedic mathematics and numerous other discoveries like Zero. Once again, the country is embracing its roots in Vedic Mathematics, which is supposed to play a significant role in enhancing the country’s soft power on the global stage. MSU’s partnership with IIVA aims to empower educators by offering them professional degrees.

MSU, headquartered in Sikkim, is India’s leading skills university and a pioneer in industry-academia collaborations. The university, which is the youngest to win medals in the IndiaSkills2024 competition, is known for empowering youngsters through Work-Integrated Skill-Based courses and blended learning.

Rajesh Gupta (Chairman & MD) IIVA highlighted the importance of this alliance:

This collaboration is a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of educators in India. Through this MoU, we are preserving ancient wisdom and applying it to modern educational needs. Together, we aim to create a strong foundation for numeracy skills, helping individuals improve their mathematical proficiency in innovative and time-tested ways.

IIVA is a one-stop solution for championing Vedic Maths and Abacus. It has been created with the vision of changing the mindset of people into learning and teaching Abacus and Vedic Maths globally. Its entity is formed by professionals who are masters of bringing changes in set standards of teaching. IIVA is the only institute that has launched Government-certified courses in Abacus and Vedic Maths through both online and offline mediums. The platform is committed to spreading knowledge and applied research and inspiring personal and career growth by inculcating expertise with professionalism.
